A collection bag for receiving and collecting body fluids comprising, a receptacle having a pair of opposed walls defining a chamber, with one of the walls having an opening communicating with the chamber, and a connector having a cavity to receive the body fluids. The connector is attached to the one wall over the opening with the connector cavity communicating with the receptacle chamber to permit passage of fluids from the connector into the chamber for collection therein, and the connector may be ruptured from the one wall after use of the bag to permit access to the collected fluids through the opening.

Collection bag

A device for collecting body liquids comprising, a receptacle having a chamber to receive and collect the body liquids. The device has a stand having a back member, and legs extending from a lower portion of the back member. An upper portion of the stand is connected to an upper portion of the receptacle. The device has an elongated handle member having inner and outer ends, with the inner end of the handle member being connected to the upper portion of the stand.

Device for collecting body liquids

A urine meter comprising, a receptacle having a chamber, an inlet port for passage of urine into the chamber, and a plurality of generally upright spaced dividers in the chamber defining a plurality of generally upright compartments separated by the dividers intermediate adjacent compartments, with adjacent compartments communicating with each other over an upper portion of the dividers. The urine meter directs urine from the inlet port to one of the compartments such that urine serially overflows from the one compartment into the other compartments. The urine meter has a collection bag having a cavity, and the urine meter communicates between the chamber and an upper portion of the cavity.

Urine meter

A device for testing an elongated elastic sleeve or balloon. The device has a pair of clamp members which selectively grip opposed ends of the sleeve, and the device inflates the sleeve while retained by the clamp members. The device illuminates the inflated sleeve walls from the inside of the sleeve to permit visual inspection of the sleeve walls. The device also permits rotation of the clamp members and retained sleeve to permit visual inspection of the inflated sleeve walls circumferentially around the sleeve. The device permits submersion of the inflated sleeve into a testing liquid in order to determine whether the sleeve walls leak.

Balloon testing device

A container for collecting body fluids comprising, a receptacle having a cavity, and a siphon assembly having a pair of opposed spaced walls defining a chamber, a port communicating with the chamber to receive the fluids, and a siphon passageway. The passageway has an upper portion spaced a substantial distance above a lower portion of the chamber and located below an upper portion of the chamber, a first portion connecting the passageway upper portion to the lower portion of the chamber, and a second portion extending downwardly from the passageway upper portion and communicating with the receptacle cavity.

Collection container with siphon assembly

A catheter comprising, an elongated shaft having a main lumen, an inflation lumen extending along the shaft, and an outer surface. The catheter has an annular sleeve of elastic material joined to the shaft in spaced first and second circumferential zones defining a cavity intermediate the sleeve and shaft. The inflation lumen communicates with the cavity to inflate the sleeve, and the sleeve has an inner surface facing toward the outer surface of the shaft. The inner surface of the sleeve is separated from the outer surface of the shaft in spaced areas intermediate the first and second zones, with the sleeve being permitted to contact the shaft in regions intermediate the areas.

Catheter with non-adhering balloon

A catheter having a flexible annular balloon secured on a shaft of the catheter by a pair of annular sleeves. A method is provided for securing the balloon to the shaft by shrinking the sleeves over grooves of the shaft.

Method of catheter manufacture

A catheter comprising, an elongated shaft of elastic material having an annular sleeve overlying a surface of the shaft, with one end of the sleeve being of one-piece construction with the shaft, and with a circumferential portion of the sleeve spaced from the one sleeve end being bonded to the shaft to define a cavity between the sleeve and the shaft surface. The inflation lumen communicates with the cavity in order to inflate the balloon.

Method of making a catheter

A retaining member for a conduit including a catheter having a shaft, a side arm extending from the shaft, and valve means on the side arm actuatable by contact. The retaining member has a first clip member for releasable attachment to the conduit, and a second clip member to releasably receive the catheter side arm and retain it in place relative the conduit. The second clip member has an outer tapered end for placement in the valve means and actuation thereof.

An adapter assembly comprising, a syringe having a tip, a catheter, and a connector having a body member, a compressible plug, and a compression member. The body member has a bore to receive the plug, and an opening communicating with the bore. The plug has a channel to receive the catheter through the body member opening into the plug channel. The compression member has a nipple receivable in a proximal end of the body member bore, and a proximal port to receive the syringe tip. The compression member may be releasably attached to the body member in such a manner that the nipple bears against the plug and secures the catheter in the plug channel, while the syringe may be attached to the compression member with the syringe tip received in the compression member port.

Catheter with integral balloon and method

A catheter having a flexible annular balloon secured on a shaft of the catheter by a pair of annular sleeves. A method is provided for securing the balloon to the shaft by shrinking the sleeves over grooves of the shaft. The balloon is inverted over the grooves prior to shrinking the sleeves into the grooves.
