A shield for use in the interior of an automobile, attached on the side window pane or door frame, to prevent the ingress of snow, ice and the like when the driver or passenger opens the door; containing attaching means and an inwardly extended lip therefrom; the lip being positioned in a manner to flexibly contact the overhead or side panel when the automobile door is opened or closed.

Automobile snow shield

An adjustable loop clamp assembly provides improved retention of electrical cables, tubes or hoses. The clamp assembly comprises a flexible strap with first and second ends. A base, having an elevated platform, a lower platform, a midsection, and two side supports, receives a second end of the strap in an aperture of the midsection. The first strap end is securably affixed to the elevated platform of the base. Support holes in the side supports receive pin portions of a locking cam, the locking cam further comprising a handle portion and a cam portion. A mount bolt is receivable in alignable apertures of the lower platform and the handle portion. The pin portions of the locking cam are pivotably engaged into the mount holes of the side supports, allowing rotation of the locking cam into a position that engages the strap with the cam portion, locking the strap against the base structure, simultaneously contacting the handle portion against the lower platform, further aligning the mount holes in the handle portion and the lower platform so that when a mount bolt is passed through those holes and secured, the locking cam is prevented from disengagement.

Adjustable loop clamp

In a gas turbine bypass engine having an inlet for gas flow to a core duct and an outer duct for bypassing a portion of the inlet air flow around such core duct, an improvement is provided in which a plurality of pivotal outlet guide vanes mounted on the rear frame member, aft of the low-pressure turbine, the vanes being hollow and upstanding edgewise in the path of the core gas with each vane mounted to pivot on an axis extending through the length thereof, with means to pivot the vanes on their axes so as to correct the swirl of turbine discharge gases toward axial flow through the nozzle of such engine, during high bypass ratio and low bypass ratio operation. The vanes are sized to extend from the rear frame into close clearance with a wall defining the inner surface of the engine bypass duct, which wall has a plurality of apertures therethrough between bypass duct and core duct to define an interduct connecting area, which apertures are sized, shaped and located to match the cross-sectional area of such vanes, so that such apertures can be at least partially blocked by such vanes when the latter are pivoted therebeneath into registration therewith.

Variable vane valve in a gas turbine

This invention generally relates to load securing devices and in particular to an end connector member (10) having a lower portion (11) in the form of a flat metallic or like plate having a penetrable latch tongue aperture (14) contained therein for releaseably engaging the locking mechanism of a truck tailgate. An upper portion (13), integrally joined with said lower portion (11) is provided in the form of a circular ring or rectangular plate for securably attaching the ends of cargo restraining straps (28) or strap anchored end attaching means (32). The combination of connector (10) and straps (28) is employed for preventing both rearward and transverse motion of cargo carried in the bed of a truck when the length of that cargo reequires that the truck tailgate body (20) be used in the lowered horizontal position.
