A modularized, electric pumping unit comprising: a base structure; an electric motor mounted on the base structure; and one or more pump modules. Each of the one or more pump modules comprises a pump and a pump module structure. The one or more pump modules are configured to be removably mounted on the base structure and driven by the electric motor.

Electrically powered pumping unit with removable pump modules

This disclosure presents processes for controlling a hydraulic fracturing operation at a wellbore. The processes can determine power available from each of one or more individual power sources. From the determined power available from the power sources, parasitic power losses, existing power consumed by one or more loads of the hydraulic fracturing operation, a threshold power level, or a combination thereof, the processes can determine an incremental power available to the one or more loads. The processes communicate the incremental power available to the one or more loads. The hydraulic fracturing operation is then controlled by processes based on the incremental power available to the one or more loads.

Load management for power systems

A load phase back system for controlling a plurality of electrical loads in an electric fracturing spread. The load phase back system comprises monitoring circuitry configured to monitor input power received from an electric power source. The monitoring circuitry determines a measured voltage and a measured frequency of the input power. A controller controls the power applied to the plurality of electrical loads from a power bus according to a value of the measured voltage and a value of the measured frequency of the input power. The controller reduces power applied to selected ones of the plurality of electrical loads from the power bus when at least one of the measured voltage is less than a first threshold and the measured frequency is less than a second threshold.

System and method for controlling hybrid and grid power in an electric fracturing spread

A method for calibrating a unit controller with a managing process determining a position of a decoupler mechanism on the pumping unit. The managing process can calibrate the unit controller with a dual pump mode in response to determining the decoupler mechanism is in a coupled position. The managing process can calibrate the unit controller with a single pump mode in response to determining the decoupler mechanism is in a decoupled position with the pumping unit operating with the first fluid end coupled to the power end and the second fluid end decoupled from the power end. The system controller can pump a wellbore treatment fluid in accordance with the pumping unit in i) the dual pump mode or ii) the single pump mode.

Grid power for hydrocarbon service applications

A blender power unit (BPU) for use in fracturing jobs. The BPU comprises a transformer having an input and an output and configured to receive electrical power via the input at a first voltage to output electrical power via the output at a second voltage; a motor power bus coupled to the output of the transformer; a motor starter bus; at least one motor soft starter having an input coupled to the motor power bus and having an coupled to the motor starter bus; a plurality of electric power relays coupled to the motor power bus and configured to supply electric power from the motor power bus to a load when in a closed state; and a plurality of start electric power relays coupled to the motor starter bus and configured to supply electric power from the motor starter bus to a load when in a closed state.

Blender power unit for electric fracturing spread

This disclosure presents processes for controlling a hydraulic fracturing operation at a wellbore. The processes can (1) determine a system rate-of-change of power limit (ROCL) to be supplied to one or more loads, where the system ROCL is based on an individual ROCL for one or more individual power sources; (2) determine an allowable rate-of-change (ROCA) for the one or more loads such that the system ROCL is not exceeded; and (3) control the hydraulic fracturing operation based on the ROCA for the one or more loads.

Management of power rate of change

A grid power configuration may provide a reliable, efficient, inexpensive and environmentally conscious power source to a site, for example, a remote site such as a well services environment. Grid power may be provided for one or more operations at the site by coupling a main breaker to a switchgear unit coupled to one or more loads. The switchgear unit may be coupled to the main breaker via a main power distribution unit and may also be coupled to one or more loads. At least one of a grid power unit and a switchgear unit may be coupled to the main breaker via the main power distribution unit and may also be coupled to one or more additional loads. A control center may be communicatively coupled to the main breaker or any one or more other components to control one or more operations of the grid power configuration.

An apparatus for managing a plurality of electric power generators is configured to receive measurements of a plurality of parameters related to performance of one or more of a plurality of generators and detect, based on the measurements, that values of at least two of the plurality of parameters measured for a first generator of the one or more generators do not match respective predetermined values of the at least two parameters for the first generator. In response to the detecting, the apparatus determines that the first generator is faulty and generates a signal to perform at least one of shutting down the first generator or disconnecting the first generator from at least one second generator of the plurality of generators, in response to determining that the first generator is faulty.

Protection system and method for electrical power plant

At a well site, equipment will need a power source, such as a gas turbine, to operate. As the gas turbine operates, wasted energy in the form of heat is produced as a result of the efficiency of the gas turbine. With regards to the present disclosure, the heat may be used for operations and treatments at the well site. An embodiment of the present disclosure is a heat recovery system, comprising a gas turbine; a first heat exchanger, wherein the first heat exchanger is a finned-tube heat exchanger; and a second heat exchanger, wherein the second heat exchanger is a tube and shell heat exchanger, wherein the first heat exchanger is disposed in the flow path of an exhaust stream of the gas turbine, wherein the first heat exchanger is fluidly coupled to the second heat exchanger.

Gas turbine waste heat utilization

A cable transport system, method, and apparatus are disclosed. In certain embodiments, a cable transport system comprises a cable transport assembly comprising a frame, wherein the frame comprises one or more bottom supports. In certain embodiments, the cable transport assembly comprises a first radii support coupled to a first end of the frame and a second radii support coupled to a second end of the frame, and one or more cables positioned longitudinally on the one or more bottom supports of the frame.

One or more wellbore servicing operations may require the pulsed delivery of a wellbore servicing fluid. To optimize efficiency and effectives of a given wellbore servicing operation a concentrated proppant stimulation fluid may be pumped downhole at a predetermined time interval from dedicated pumping units or positive displacement pumps. The flow rate of proppant in the concentrated proppant stimulation fluid pumped from these dedicated pumps may simulate a square-wave. The desired or determined square-wave or output may be predetermined and any one or more dedicated pumps may be associated with a given time interval and pumping cycle or phasing such that the overall flow of proppant from all of the dedicated pumps simulates a square-wave. Clean fluid from one or more clean fluid pumps may be combined with the concentrated proppant stimulation fluid to maintain a target flow rate of fluid downhole.

Pulsed delivery of concentrated proppant stimulation fluid

The disclosure provides a manifold comprising a trailer and a piping system. The piping system is disposed on top of the trailer, wherein the piping system comprises a first set of conduits and a second set of conduits. Each of the first set of conduits and the second set of conduits comprises a first line comprising an inlet disposed at a first side of the trailer and a second line comprising an inlet disposed at the first side of the trailer, wherein the first line is disposed above the second line. There is a plurality of outlets and a plurality of valves disposed along the second line.

Split flow suction manifold

A positionable exhaust apparatus with an exhaust outlet having a first bore extending along a length of the exhaust outlet. The first bore having a longitudinal axis extending the length thereof and an exhaust outlet tip coupled to the exhaust outlet. The exhaust outlet tip having a second bore with at least a portion of the second bore substantially aligned with the first bore of the exhaust outlet. An actuator coupled with the exhaust outlet and the exhaust outlet tip with at least a portion of the exhaust outlet tip to rotate the exhaust outlet tip relative to the exhaust outlet. The exhaust outlet tip rotatable three hundred and sixty degrees about the longitudinal axis of the exhaust outlet.

Well site noise control

The abrupt cessation or run-away of a combustion engine may damage the combustion engine and pose a safety hazard to the surrounding environment. The combustion engine operational mode may be controlled, regulated or maintained by regulating the combustion mixture of the combustion engine. The oxidizer flow, a material or both of the combustion mixture may be regulate to create or form a combustion material that is outside a combustible range such that the combustion engine is placed or maintained in a spin-down operational mode. The material added to the combustion mixture may include a combustible, non-combustible, oxidizer, or exhaust material. A brake may also provide a secondary mechanism to maintain or place the combustion engine in a spin-down mode.
