An electronic device may include a communications interface, a user prompting device, a biometric sensor, and a controller. The controller may perform biometric spoof detection with the biometric sensor, and receive a request for human presence verification from a remote device via the communications interface. The controller may also prompt the user for a verification action using the sensor based upon receiving the request, and determine that the user has completed the verification action in response to the prompting and based upon the biometric spoof detection. The controller may further send a response to the remote device via the communications interface and based upon determining that the user has completed the verification action. The controller may send a notification to the remote device that there is a biometric sensor.

Biometric sensor for human presence detection and associated methods

The invention provides methods of identifying herbicidal auxins. The invention further provides auxin-herbicide-resistant plants and genes conferring auxin-herbicide resistance. This invention also provides a method of identifying other proteins that bind picolinate auxins from additional plant species. The invention further provides a method to identify the molecular binding site for picolinate auxins. The invention also includes the use of the picolinate herbicidal auxin target site proteins, and methods of discovering new compounds with herbicidal or plant growth regulatory activity. The invention also includes methods for producing plants that are resistant to picolinate herbicidal auxins. Specific examples of novel proteins associated with herbicide binding include AFB5, AFB4, and SGT1b.

Resistance to auxinic herbicides

A valve assembly including a hollow, generally cylindrical housing having spaced inlet and outlet ports, a generally circular valve member disposed coaxially within the housing between the inlet and outlet ports, and an eccentrically apertured body member disposed coaxially within the housing, and having a contact surface slidably engaged by the valve member. A sealing member engages an opposite surface of the body member and includes a projecting neck portion which extends into the eccentric opening in the body member and has an opposite end which engages the valve member. The valve member is rotatable about the axis of the housing and has a non-concentric aperture movable upon rotation of the valve member into and out of registry with a non-concentric opening in the sealing member neck portion.

A faucet of the type for controlling volume flow of fluids therethrough and for further controlling and varying the temperature of said fluids as determined by the operator of the faucet, for the purpose of effecting mixing of cold and hot water or cold and hot fluids whereby the resultant temperature may be selected from the temperature of the cold fluid supply to the temperature of the hot fluid supply or therebetween.
