A silicone elastomer composition which is generally storage stable, and cures to an elastomeric body, comprising; (i) an organopolysiloxane polymer having at least two hydroxyl or hydrolysable groups; (ii) a siloxane and/or silane cross-linker having at least three groups per molecule which are reactable with the hydroxyl or hydrolysable groups in the organopolysiloxane polymer (i); (iii) a solid organosilicate resin which is substantially unreactive with components (i) and (ii) and comprising RSiOand SiOsiloxane units, wherein the molar ratio of the RSiOsiloxane units to SiOsiloxane units is from 0.5:1 to 1.2:1, and Ris selected from hydrocarbon groups; and optionally (iv) a suitable condensation cure catalyst. The solid organosilicate resin (iii) is generally utilised to create a low modulus room temperature vulcanisable (RTV) silicone composition which when cured may be used as a coating, an adhesive or a sealant having high movement capability.

A method of adhering a cosmetic pressed powder product or a stick type applicative product (e.g. a lipstick) inside a receptacle therefor is disclosed. The receptacle comprises a casing having a top end and a base end with a receiving base member disposed at the base end, and the receiving base member has an inner surface. The base member may be designed or adapted to be moveable inside the casing to advance and retract the product. The method comprises applying a silicone hot melt adhesive composition in liquid form to at least part of the inner surface of the receiving base member; inserting the product into the receiving base member on or in the silicone hot melt adhesive composition while still in liquid form; and cooling, and optionally curing, the silicone hot melt adhesive to adhere the product inside the receptacle. Retained-products formed via the method are also disclosed.

A moisture-curable silicone adhesive composition is provided that comprises (A) a reactive resin, (B) a reactive polymer, (C) a moisture cure catalyst, and (D) a crosslinker resin. The reactive resin (A) comprises the reaction product of a reaction of an alkenyl-functional siloxane resin comprising RSiOunits and SiOunits and an alkoxysilane-functional organosiloxane compound having at least one silicon-bonded hydrogen atom in the presence of a hydrosilylation catalyst. The reactive polymer (B) comprises the reaction product of a reaction of an alkoxysilane-functional organosiloxane compound having at least one silicon-bonded hydrogen atom and a polyorganosiloxane having an average, per molecule, of at least 2 aliphatically unsaturated organic groups in the presence of a hydrosilylation catalyst.

Moisture-curable hot melt silicone adhesive compositions including an alkoxy-functional siloxane reactive resin

An alkoxy-functional organopolysiloxane resin and polymer is disclosed that comprises the reaction product of a reaction of (i) an alkenyl-functional siloxane resin comprising RSiOunits and SiOunits; (ii) an alkoxysilane-functional organosiloxane compound having at least one silicon-bonded hydrogen atom at a molecular terminal; (iii) an endcapper according to the formula to the formula RSi&#x2014;(RSiO)&#x2014;SiRH or RSi&#x2014;(RSiO)&#x2014;(HRSiO)&#x2014;SiR, or combinations thereof; and (iv) a polyorganosiloxane having an average, per molecule, of at least 2 aliphatically unsaturated organic groups in the presence of a (v) hydrosilylation catalyst. In this alkoxy-functional organopolysiloxane resin and polymer, each Ris independently a hydrocarbon radical and the subscripts s and t independently have values ranging from 0 to 10.

Alkoxy-functional organopolysiloxane resin and polymer and related methods for forming same

Particles having an average diameter of at least 30 nanometers include a polymerization product of a silanol, a cyclic silazane, and an isocyanate. The particles are formed in an oil-in-water emulsion which includes less than 0.1 weight percent of a hydrophobic costabilizer. The particles are formed by a method including the step of reacting the silanol and the cyclic silazane and the isocyanate and the step of forming the oil-in-water emulsion.

A dispersion includes dispersed particles. The particles include a reaction product of a first polymer, a second polymer, and a chain terminator. The first and second polymers have at least two Si&#x2014;H moieties and silicon bonded unsaturated moieties, respectively. The chain terminator has one Si&#x2014;H moiety or one unsaturated hydrocarbon moiety. The first and second polymers and the chain terminator are reacted in the presence of a metal catalyst. The dispersion is formed by a method that includes the step of combining the first and second polymers, and the chain terminator. This method also reacts the first and second polymers and the chain terminator in the presence of the metal catalyst to form the dispersed particles.

Thermal curable compositions contains a glycidyl ether epoxide resin, a carbinol functional silicone resin or an anhydride functional silicone resin, and a thermal catalyst. An organic polyol, an organic anhydride, and filler, are optional components that may also be included in the composition. The glycidyl ether epoxide resin adds toughness and adhesion to the composition, whereas the carbinol functional silicone resin and the anhydride functional silicone resin provide water resistance, weatherability, thermal stability, and flexibility.

A radiation or thermal curable coating composition contains a cycloaliphatic epoxide resin, a carbinol functional silicone resin or an anhydride functional silicone resin, and a thermal or photoactivated acid catalyst. An organic polyol may also be included in the composition as an optional component. The composition is useful as a radiation curable coating, as an adhesive, a photodefinable coating, or as a thermal cure coating. Coating compositions containing a carbinol functional silicone resin or an anhydride functional silicone resin

This invention relates to aminofunctional silicone resins having high aryl content RSiOcontent and amine content. The aminofunctional silicone resins of this invention are useful in making tough, water, solvent, and heat resistant hybrid materials when used in combination with selected organic materials, particularly epoxy-containing organic materials. The aminofunctional resins of this invention have the ability to flexibilize epoxy compounds while maintaining low CTE and solvent resistance. This invention also relates to emulsion compositions containing the above described aminofunctional silicone resins.

This invention relates to urethane compositions comprising: (A) 100 weight parts of at least one compound containing at least one isocyanate group; (B) 0.3-300 weight parts of a carbinol-functional silicone resin; (C) up to 250 weight parts of an organic polyol; and (D) up to 10 weight parts of a cure rate modifier. The urethane compositions of this invention are useful as a stand-alone coating or as ingredients in protective coatings, paint formulations, and powder coatings. The urethane compositions of this invention can also be formulated with a blowing agent and cell stabilizer to produce thermally stable foam formulations.

This invention relates to a coating composition comprising (A) 100 weight parts of a compound containing at least one acrylate group or a compound containing at least one isocyanate group; (B) at least one aminofanctional silicone resin; (C) up to 300 weight parts of at least one organic hardener; and (D) up to 5 weight parts of at least one cure rate modifier. The coating compositions of this invention are useful as a stand alone coating or as ingredients in flame retardant coating compositions, fabric or fiber coating compositions, UV resistant coating compositions, paint formulations, powder coatings, architectural coatings and adhesives. The coating compositions of this invention have enhanced thermal stability, particularly when used in coatings, paints, powder coatings, architectural coatings, and adhesives.

A composition comprising (A) at least one organosiloxane resin having an average of at least two silicon-bonded hydrogen groups per molecule; (B) at least one polyene having an average of at least two non-aromatic carbon-carbon double bonds per molecule; and (C) a catalyst. Methods for preparing the above-described composition are also disclosed.
