A bushing device includes a cap end shaped to engage a first surface of a first component having a first hole, and a slotted barrel body coupled with the cap end and elongated along a center axis. The slotted barrel body includes plural first cantilevered beam legs extending away from the cap end in directions that are parallel to the center axis. One or more of the first cantilevered beam legs has a hook at a distal end of the one or more first cantilevered beam legs. The slotted barrel body is shaped to fit inside the first hole in the first component and into a concentric second hole in a second component. The hook of the one or more first cantilevered beam legs is positioned to engage the second component to secure the first component and the second component together.

Clipping bushing device of fastener assembly

A bushing includes a cylindrical main body having a leading end and a trailing end, wherein a fastener passage is defined within the main body, and a plurality of ribs outwardly extending from the main body. The plurality of ribs are configured to securely position the bushing with respect to an opening formed in a component.

Bushing assembly

A fastener assembly is configured to secure to a component. The fastener assembly may include a fastener having a shaft integrally connected to an engagement head, and an anchoring bushing that retains the fastener. The anchoring bushing may include a main body defining a fastener passage that retains the shaft, and at least one anchoring member extending from a portion of the main body. The anchoring member(s) is configured to securely anchor into at least a portion of the component.

Anchoring fastener assembly

The battery cell plate frame assembly comprising a frame, and a sub-assembly comprising a conductive cell plate connector bracket, a conductive terminal, a fuse interposed between the connector bracket and the terminal and a non-conductive bridge separately supporting the connector bracket, the terminal and the fuse. In one form, the connector bracket and terminal include planar elements frictionally connected to the bridge. The bridge includes grasping prongs to releasably support the fuse. The fuse includes a wire connected to the connector bracket and a wire connected to the terminal.

Battery cell plate frame assembly and method

A single retainer is configured to securely retain a fastener and first and second limiting members. The retainer may include a main body, fastener-engaging members extending from the main body, and limiter-engaging members from the main body. The fastener-engaging members are configured to securely engage a portion of the fastener, and the limiter-engaging members are configured to securely engage portions of the first and second limiting members. The fastener-engaging members and the limiter-engaging members are configured to retain the fastener and the first and second limiting members.

Fastener retainer

A dual-phase spring assembly configured for use with a fuel injector system includes a metal main body and a rubber ring. The main body includes a base integrally connected to a circumferential wall having a radially-canted lip. The base defines a central opening. The radially-canted lip angles away from a center of the main body. The rubber ring secures over the base and to an internal surface of the circumferential wall. The rubber ring covers a ledge of the base, while the radially-canted lip is exposed. The rubber ring is configured to directly abut at least a first portion of the fuel injector system, and the radially-canted lip is configured to directly abut a second portion of the fuel injector system.

Dual-phase spring assembly for use with fuel injector system

A fastener assembly includes a bushing having a flange configured to be urged toward a work-piece, and an isolation spring configured to be positioned between the flange and the work-piece. The isolation spring includes a metal core integrally formed with a rubber coating.

An isolating connector between a first work piece and a second work piece each defining a hole therein includes first and second spring members that capture the first work piece between flanges of the spring members and establish a column between the second work piece and a head of a bolt extending through the first and second spring members and anchored in the second work piece.

Work piece isolating assembly

A punch is provided with a detection system for evaluating crack defects in waste material removed during a clipping operation. The punch includes a clip ring and a clip insert for shearing excess material from a part processed therein. The excess material is engaged around the clip ring when sheared from the part. Frictional resistance between the waste material and the clip ring is evaluated in determining potential crack defects in the waste material.

Crack test for stamped flange

A crack test for a tubular structure includes a sensor ring disposed radially outward from a flare pin in a flaring press. The sensor ring is responsive to physical contact from a cracked flared end of a tube processed in the press.

Crack tester for flared ends

A measuring device includes a receiver having a cavity with differing narrowing diameters from an opening. The receiver can be moved axially. A part is moved a predetermined fixed distance, including movement while engaging and moving the receiver. The distance moved by the receiver is sensed, and the acceptability of the dimension of the object is determined by evaluating the distance moved by the receiver.

Measurement device and process

A captive fastener retention member includes a cylindrical body having a flange at one end thereof. Work piece retention members project outwardly of the body for securing the retention member in a bore of a work piece. A dimple projects inwardly in the retention member to hold a fastener. The flange on the retention member rests against a work piece, and is shaped to inhibit scratching or gouging of the work piece surface.

Captive fastener

A captive fastener system having a fastener and a retention member is provided. The retention member includes a cylindrical body having a flange at one end thereof. Work piece retention members project outwardly of the body for securing the retention member in a bore of a work piece. A plurality of dimples project inwardly in the retention member, and are narrow in a circumferential direction and elongated in an axial direction of the body. The dimples frictionally engage a shank of the fastener, to hold the fastener in the retention member.

Captive fastener system and retention member

A fastener assembly device is disclosed for fastening workpieces together. The device includes an elongate fastener having a first and a second end. The first end of the fastener defines a head and the fastener includes a threaded portion which extends between the second end of the fastener and the head. A shank portion is disposed between the head and the threaded portion and an annular collar is disposed between the head and the second end of the fastener. A washer cooperates with the fastener, the washer defining an aperture for the reception therethrough of the threaded portion of the fastener. The washer includes a plurality of protrusions which extend towards and cooperate with the annular collar. The arrangement is such that when the threaded portion of the fastener extends through the aperture of the washer, the protrusions interact with the collar for holding the fastener and the washer together. Also, each protrusion of the plurality of protrusions is unevenly spaced circumferentially from an adjacent protrusion.

Fastener assembly device

A fastener retention system having a retention member with an opening therein, a flange protruding outwardly from the retention member, a plurality of resilient work piece engagement tabs protruding outwardly from retention member, and a shank disposed in the retention member opening and engaged by a plurality of fastener engagement tabs, whereby the retention member is axially retained about the shank.
