A first device of a Multimedia Over Coax Alliance (MoCA) network may communicate with a second device of the MoCA network to control power-save operation of the second MoCA device. The first device may control the power-save operation of the second MoCA device based on an amount of data stored in a buffer, wherein the data stored in the buffer is destined for the second device. The buffer may be in a third device which sends the data to the second device, and/or the buffer may be in the first device. The first device may be operable to buffer data destined for the second device while the second device is in a power-saving state.

Method and system for buffer state based low power operation in a MoCA network

A node forms a network by scanning for an existing network. If an existing network is not found, the node operates as a network controller node of the first network and admits at least one client node to the first network. As a network controller node, the node designates one of the client nodes as a scout node. The scout node removes itself from the first network and scans for a second network. If the scout node does not return to the first network after a predetermined time, it is assumed that the scout node has found a second network. The network controller node of the first network then designates the remaining client nodes as scout nodes, and then joins the second network as a client node. Therefore, multiple networks are avoided.

Frequency scanning to form a communication network

Systems and methods are provided for communication ultra-high definition (UHD) video. At the transmitter-side, a single packet stream may be generated based on a plurality of UHD video streams; and the single packet stream may be split into a plurality of sub-streams, with each sub-steam comprising at least one or more packets from the single packet stream. The plurality of sub-streams may be processes concurrently via a plurality of transmit paths, to generate a corresponding plurality of signals for transmission over a particular physical medium. At the receiver-side, the plurality of signals may be concurrently received and processed, via a plurality of receive paths, and the plurality of sub-streams may be reconstructed based on processing of the plurality signals. The plurality of sub-streams may be combined to re-generate the single packet stream; and the plurality of encoded UHD video streams may then be extracted from the single packet steam.

Channel bonding for ultra-high definition video background

A first device of a multimedia over coax alliance (MoCA) network may grant a second device of the MoCA network permission to enter a power-saving state. While the second device is in the power-saving mode, the first device may grant bandwidth to the second device during one or more predetermined timeslots. The bandwidth may be granted without a corresponding reservation request from the second device. While the second device is in the power-saving state, it may track time utilizing a clock that is synchronized to the system time of the MoCA network, and transmit during one or more of the predetermined timeslots without first transmitting a corresponding reservation request. The second device may utilize a first modulation profile when not operating in the power-saving state, and utilize a second modulation profile when operating in the power-saving state.

System and method for providing power-save operation in an in-home communication network

A non-transitory computer readable media having instructions stored thereon that, when executed by a processor, cause the processor to optimize a network that is formed from a plurality of nodes. The instructions cause the processor to execute an order that the plurality of nodes perform a probing operation. The order is typically round robin. The processor receives a request from a client that identifies a next node to perform the probing operation. Based on the request, the processor changes the order so that the next node performs the probing operation after the current node that is performing the probing operation has completed the operation.

Probing network nodes for optimization

A method is disclosed for optimizing a network that is formed from a plurality of nodes. The NC node of the network compiles an order that the plurality of nodes perform a probing operation. The order is typically round robin. The NC node receives a request from a client that identifies a next node to perform the probing operation. Based on the request, the NC node changes the order so that the next node performs the probing operation after the current node that is performing the probing operation has completed the operation.

A node for transmitting digital data over a network receives a plurality of packet data units and identifies at least two of the packet data units that have the same aggregation identifier. The node then forms an aggregate packet from the packet data units that have the same aggregation identifier and transmits the aggregate packet to a common destination node or nodes.

Aggregating network packets for transmission to a destination node

A system that transmits data over multiple networks receives data packets at a client node and forms a plurality of data aggregates from the data packets. The system then sends a request for a duplicate transmission to a coordinator node on a first network. In response to the request, the system receives a first transmission slot on the first network and a second transmission slot on a second network for transmission of the data aggregates. The system then splits the data aggregates among the first transmission slot and the second transmission slot and transmits the data aggregates on the first transmission slot and the second transmission slot.
