A control housing assembly is disclosed. The housing assembly includes a housing and an escutcheon that manually connects to the housing by the engagement of escutcheon latches with housing catch channels. When the escutcheon is connected to the housing, the housing covers the escutcheon latches so as to obstruct the latches from being manually accessed to disengage the latches from the catch channels. The housing includes tool access slots through which a tool can be inserted to disengage a latch from a catch channel.

A control management system includes a network of wirelessly connected control systems, such as thermostats. The control systems can actuate systems such as heating systems, cooling systems, ventilation systems, humidity control systems, and/or other types of controls. The control systems can adjust or maintain temperature, humidity, lighting, or other timer and control functions. In at least some embodiments, the control management system provides at least one adjustable calendar. In at least some embodiments, the aforementioned calendar is perpetual, repeating each time period unless instructed to do otherwise by the control management system. Examples of instructions otherwise can include operator specified exception days, where on specified dates, the control management system will override the calendar with a custom setting.

An indoor comfort control system for controlling an indoor comfort system includes a microprocessor, a display, wireless transceiver and a specialized control system computer program. The control is accessible over the Internet via the transceiver. The control is diagnosed and configured by a third-party operating a third-party communication device. The control communicates with the third-party communication device over the Internet. The multi-party access is granted by a principal of the control, and communicated to the third-party communication device by a cloud server system. The control receives connection requests and commands from the third-party communication device over the Internet. The control further communicates responses to the third-party communication device over the Internet. The connection can be timed out based on an access time limit set by the principal. The date and time of the multi-party access is configured by the principal via the principal communication device and the cloud server system.

An environmental controller for use within a comfort control system is disclosed. The environmental controller includes a microprocessor controlled display that incorporates a pair of mechanical buttons, generally known as an 'UP' button and a 'DOWN' button. The display is adapted to dispose a variety of system/installer modes, including a residential mode. The system modes make use of BACK, NEXT, and RETURN buttons, which are used to navigate through the various system/installer modes along with the increment/decrement mechanical buttons.

The invention provides a thermostat control display having a programming function button, day of the week icons, a table for displaying time and temperature parameters and a graphical highlight pattern that links the table and the day of the week icons. The button, icons and table comprise touch sensitive areas adapted to activate a predetermined display response. Upon selection of a day of the week icon the graphical highlight pattern will be extended to surround the selected day of the week icon so that the table depicting temperature and time parameters to be assigned to the selected day of the week are visually linked to the selected day of the week.

A thermostat configuration system includes a first thermostat having a processor, a transceiver, a storage area and a control button. The invention provides for a controller such as a thermostat for an HVAC System comprising a housing having a circuit board and a display screen, the display screen having at least one alpha-numeric icon and a group of input control areas. A microprocessor is provided for control on the display screen. Buttons are pressed in order to program set-points of the thermostat so that seven days may be programmed simultaneously. The display includes a seven-day icon so that the user can program the thermostat set-points rapidly (e.g. setting time and temperature settings with minimal steps). The user may activate a first programming mode wherein the activating occurs by depressing a programming-mode button for a first pre-selected duration in order to select a first day for setting the conditioning mode. The user may activate a second programming mode wherein such activating occurs by depressing the programming-mode button for a second pre-selected duration that is longer than the first pre-selected duration in order to select programming for all seven days simultaneously.

The invention provides for a controller such as a thermostat for an HVAC system having a housing having a circuit board and a display screen, the display screen having at least one alpha-numeric icon and a group of touch pads having at least two displayable touch pads. A microprocessor provided for controlling the display screen. A sole mechanical button or switch is mounted in the housing and the button has a first end and second end and a touch surface extending between the first end and second end. The sole mechanical button signals the microprocessor in order to adjust the alpha-numeric icon(s), so that the combination of inputs received by the microprocessor from the group of touch pads and sole mechanical button provide for each and every adjustment required for all of the operational functions of the controller. The mechanical button may be a rocker switch. The controller may also include a navigation button.
