Methods and systems for providing an availability status associated with a facility. One system includes a visual indicator associated with a facility subsystem of the facility and a sensor configured to detect data associated with the facility subsystem. The system also includes a controller communicatively coupled to the visual indicator and the sensor. The controller is configured to receive a data from the sensor. The controller is also configured to determine a current availability status associated with the facility subsystem based on the data received from the sensor. The controller is also configured to control the visual indicator to indicate the current availability status associated with the facility subsystem.

Systems, methods and apparatus for providing an availability status associated with a facility. One system includes an illumination indicator, a thermal grid array sensor, and an electronic controller. The thermal grid array sensor is configured to sense an outside region, an entryway region, and an inside region associated with a facility subsystem. The electronic controller is configured to determine the current availability status as unavailable responsive to the thermal grid array sensor detecting a heat signature in the outside region, subsequently in the entryway region, and subsequently in the inside region. The electronic controller is also configured to determine the current availability status as available responsive to the thermal grid array sensor detecting the heat signature in the inside region, subsequently in the entryway region, and subsequently in the outside region. The electronic controller is further configured to control the illumination indicator to indicate the current availability status.

The system also includes a second gateway device communicatively coupled with the first gateway device. The second gateway device includes a second electronic processor configured to receive, from the first gateway device, the processed fixture data. The second electronic processor configured to convert the processed fixture data pursuant to a networking protocol associated with a building management system and transmit the converted fixture data for display via a visual dashboard associated with the building management system.

A sink including a vessel volume having an interior surface, where the vessel volume includes a base wall, a first side wall extending from the base wall to at least partially form a bowl, a second side wall extending from the base wall opposite the first side wall to at least partially form a cup, and a strainer plate extending from the second side wall opposite the base wall. The sink also including a first piece of sheet material at least partially defining the interior surface of the vessel volume, and a second piece of sheet material fused to the first piece of sheet material, where the second piece of sheet material at least partially defines the interior surface of the vessel volume.

A sanitary fitting provides a fluid-tight seal between the fitting and the axial end of the tube coupled to the fitting, thereby eliminating crevices between the end of the tube and the sealing point of the fitting and consequent fluid accumulation and potential bacteria growth. The fitting preferably includes a body having a recessed outer end, an elastomeric seal disposed in the recess in the body, a gripping ring slidable into a stepped notch formed in the outer end of the body, and a locking mechanism which grips the tube and which draws the tube into a position in which its end sealingly engages the seal and causes the seal to sealingly engage an annular shoulder of the body. The gripping ring, body, and tube interact to provide very high retention forces permitting the fitting to withstand fluid pressures on the order of several thousand psi. The locking mechanism includes a ferrule having a grooved undercut near its inner end that in use facilitates collapsing of the ferrule's inner end into gripping contact with the tube.

A cage and rack system includes at least one cage, a shelf, and a water docking system that holds the cage in the position on the shelf in which a cage-mounted animal watering valve is coupled to a water manifold so as to assure the supply of water to the watering valve without leakage. The water docking system includes a latch mechanism and a coupling. The latch mechanism includes a latch catch which is movable 1) from an unlatched position in which it is disengaged from the cage and permits removal of the cage from the rack 2) to a latched position holding the cage in its docked position. The coupling may comprise either a friction-fit quick-connect or a locking quick-connect coupling and includes a male fitting and a female fitting. The male fitting is designed to prevent leakage by sequentially engaging two internal seals of the female fitting so as to first seal against the female fitting and then open an internal valve element of the female fitting.

A proportional pressure control valve has a metering spool which selectively meters flow between an axial first port and radial second ports. The spool is axially reciprocable with a larger face toward the first port and a smaller face opposite from the first port, with a pressure equalization bore through the spool. A first spring extends between the smaller face of the spool and an armature and the armature is biased to a normal position by a second spring and also has a pressure equalization bore through it. Radial orifices are formed in the end of the armature facing the smaller face of the spool, and the end of the armature seats in the main bore in which the spool is seated. Passageways extend from the orifices to the second ports, and two selectively and variably energizable electromagnetic coils coaxially encircle the armature, one to draw the armature to one side of the normal position and the other to draw the armature to the opposite side. The normal position of the armature preferably biases the spool to an intermediate setting so that energizing the coil which is toward the closed position of the spool stiffens the response to the valve and energizing the coil which is away from the closed position of the spool softens the response of the valve. Energizing one or the other coil also varies the exposed area of the orifices to change the slope of the pressure-flow rate curve at the particular energization level for low flow rates.
