An independently automated mechanical transplanter assemblage for ejecting plants into the soil is shown and described. The mechanical transplanter includes a plurality of mechanical transplanter units mounted to a frame. Each mechanical transplanter unit will include a plant tray indexing vertically and horizontally for presenting plants to a grabber having a plurality of forks. The grabber and forks thereon will be able to swing into a horizontal position for advancing in a linear motion to grip and retract plants from cells in a tray. The grabber will also be configured to swing the forks into an approximate vertical plane for ejecting each independently held plant down a funnel into a planting shoe for delivery into an open row in the soil. Other embodiments of the device are also disclosed.

Mechanical transplanter

A heated food vending machine has a front with a) slots for dispensing the food and for accepting money, b) a video screen and c) several depressible buttons. Inside the machine is a refrigerator with a roof having an openable door and a side having a fastenable door for refilling with food in covered pans. Inside the refrigerator is a horizontally rotating apparatus with stations supporting stacks of food in covered pans. An elevator below the openable door elevates a station, raising the top pan above the door. The food cover is removed by a special roller apparatus. On top of the refrigerator are arms radiating from a central hub, which are rotate horizontally. Spaces between the arms contain food pans, which rotate to an oven with heating elements above and below the pizza. A computer controls the food selection and the refrigerator and oven temperatures.

Hot food vending machine

A powered pallet assembly (10) for use on two intersecting trackways (11 and 13). The pallet assembly (10) includes: a pallet frame (23) having an upwardly facing surface (12) formed for support of a load thereon; a first plurality of load-supporting wheels (16a, 16b) rotatably mounted to frame (23) for movement of pallet assembly (10) in a first direction on the first trackway (11); a second plurality of load-supporting wheels (18a, 18b) rotatably mounted to frame (23) for movement of pallet assembly (10) in a second direction intersecting the first direction on the second trackway (13) intersecting the first trackway (11); a power drive assembly carried by pallet frame (23) and coupled to drive at least one wheel of first wheels (16a, 16b) and coupled to drive at least one wheel of second wheels (18a, 18b). The first wheels (16a, 16b) are mounted to the frame (23) in a manner which causes them to be disengaged from a second trackway (13) when the pallet (10) is supported for movement on the second trackway (13) by second wheels (18a, 18b), and the second wheels (18a, 18b) are mounted to the frame (23) in a manner which causes them to be disengaged from the first trackway (11) when pallet (10) is supported on the first trackway (11) by the first wheels (16a, 16b). A method of operating the trackway-based pallet assembly also is disclosed.

Method and apparatus for automated powered pallet

An apparatus for automated loading of pipette tips (26) into storage containers or racks (28). The apparatus (21, 21a) includes a tip-orienting roller assembly (22, 22a) for orienting the tips (26) in side-by-side contact and general parallel alignment, and a spacer assembly (24, 24a) which engages the tips (26) and pushes them from the orienting assembly (22) while simultaneously spacing them at a spacing suitable for insertion into a storage container or rack (28) having spaced apart tip-receiving openings (81). In the preferred embodiment, the tip orienting assembly (22) is provided by a vibratory feeder (30) which feeds a pair of spaced apart and inclined counter-rotating rollers (36, 37), and the spacer assembly (24) pushes the tips (26) between the rollers (36, 37) and into an intermediate transfer nest assembly (27, 27a). The nest assembly (27, 27a) transfers between the roller assembly (23) and the pipette tip rack or box (28). A method for automated loading of pipette tips (26) into storage and transport containers (28) also is provided.
