An integrated casement window operator and lock, including a gear mechanism and an arm assembly, the arm defining a rack portion and an adjacent arcuate gear portion, the arm mounted to the housing with a pinion gear engaged with the rack portion and the arcuate gear portion, the pinion gear defining a star-shaped aperture therethrough and a handle with a square-shaped shaft portion received in the star-shaped aperture of the gear. The handle is selectively rotatable to shift the arm between a window fully closed position and a window fully open position, wherein an anti-backdrive mechanism is provided to inhibit backdriving of the arm in both the window fully closed window fully open positions.

An apparatus has an actuator housing with a transmission side that defines a transmission slot. A slider is disposed in the actuator housing and has first and second ends which define a post receiver. The slider is movable between a first and second position. The post receiver is aligned with the slot when the slider is in the first position and the second position. A lever pivotably connected to the actuator housing is configured to move the slider from the first position to the second position. The transmission has an elongate element with a first and second end which is disposed outside the actuator housing and substantially parallel to and proximate the transmission side. A post extends from the first end and is received in the post receiver. A locking element is disposed proximate the second end of the first elongate element and is configured to receive the second end.

An apparatus has an actuator housing with a transmission side that defines a transmission slot. A slider is disposed in the actuator housing and has first and second ends which define a post receiver. The slider is movable between a first and second position. The post receiver is aligned with the slot when the slider is in the first position and the second position. A lever pivotably connected to the actuator housing is configured to move the slider from the first position to the second position. The transmission has an elongate element with a first and second end which is disposed outside the actuator housing and substantially parallel to and proximate the transmission side. A post extends from the first end and is received in the post receiver. A locking element is disposed proximate the second end of the first elongate element.

A window lock assembly accomplishing FER manipulation protection against unintended window opening without using additional components in the typical FER lock assembly by using a passive barrier system to help prevent access to both the lock cam and lock lever handle. The device can include at least one lock assembly mounted on the interior side of the window's inner sash and having a locked and unlocked position. The lock assembly engages with at least one keeper mounted on the outer sash to secure the window. The lock assembly housing has a barrier extending outward from the bottom surface which effectively helps to block access to the cam. The lock assembly housing also has a shroud which extends from the top and side edges which partially or completely covers the keeper and effectively helps to block access to the lever handle.

FER locking system for sliding windows

A low profile lock actuator assembly for locking, sliding doors, which can be provided in combination with a lock assembly or retrofitted to mate with an existing lock assembly. The lock actuator assembly includes an interior component and an exterior component, which are each coupled to an actuating assembly. The lock actuator assembly includes recessed or otherwise low profile handles.

An integrated lock and latch device for use in sliding sash windows includes a lock assembly including a sweep cam that has a pinion portion adjacent and extending downwardly from it. The pinion portion presents gear teeth extending outwardly. A tilt latch assembly including a sliding bolt is biased toward an extended position where a terminal portion of the sliding bolt extends outwardly. The sliding bolt has at least one track portion. The sweep cam is rotatably shiftable between a locked position where the sweep cam is engaged to the keeper, an intermediate unlocked position where the sweep cam is disengaged from the keeper and a tilt position where the sweep cam is disengaged from the keeper and the first gear teeth are engaged to the second gear teeth and the sliding bolt is withdrawn inwardly from the extended position.

An integrated lock and tilt-latch mechanism for a sliding window including an actuator assembly operably connected by a flexible linking member to at least one tilt-latch mechanism adapted for mounting in a window sash. The actuator assembly includes a control lever that rotates a sweep cam and a selectively rotates a spool, thereby locking or unlocking the sliding window or actuating the tilt-latch mechanism. At least one biasing member causes the control lever to favor locked or unlocked positions over intermediate and tilt positions.

A low-cost combination tilt-lock-latch mechanism for a sliding window that combines ease of installation and adjustment with simplicity of use. The mechanism includes at least one tilt-latch mechanism adapted for mounting in the window sash. The tilt-latch mechanism includes a housing and a plunger having a latch bolt portion retractable within the housing. A plunger latch member automatically latches the plunger in a retracted position to enable tilting of the sash. Further, the mechanism may include an actuator mechanism and a flexible linking member. The tilt-latch may include a locking member adjustable from outside the housing of the tilt latch, to lock the flexible linking member to the plunger, thereby operably coupling the actuator mechanism with the tilt-latch.
