An automotive vehicle drive unit assembly which is located near the sides of a vehicle includes a first driving axle shaft, a second driving axle shaft, a first gear box, a second gear box, a first electric motor, and a second electric motor. The first driving axle shaft drives a first wheel hub of the vehicle and the second driving axle shaft drives a second wheel hub. Together the first and second driving axle shafts define an axis of rotation about which the first and second wheel hubs rotate. The first gear set drives the first wheel and the second gear set drives the second wheel. A first electric motor is mounted in an angular relationship relative to the axis of rotation and drives the first gear set. A second electric motor is mounted in an angular relationship relative to the axis of rotation and drives the second gear set. A plurality of electric motors can be used to drive each wheel hub.

Low floor drive unit assembly for an electrically driven vehicle

A flossing loop comprising a closed or continuous loop of dental floss standing, or alternately formed by a length of dental floss having a first and second end, with the first end of the length of dental floss secured to the second end to form the closed loop. A plurality of the flossing loops may be arranged as a cascade of frangibly coupled flossing loops that are contained in a suitable package. The package is configured with a suitable opening, possibly provided as a slot, to enable each respective flossing loop (of the cascade) to be drawn out of the package, one after the other. Once a respective flossing loop is drawn from the package it is detached from the next subsequent flossing loop still substantially located within the chamber, and is available for flossing activities.

Flossing loops and associated packaging arrangements

A protective device for a motor vehicle comprises an elongate guard member having a longitudinal axis oriented substantially parallel to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle. The guard member is variable in length between a contracted position and an extended position. A pivot assembly operatively connects the guard member to the underside of the vehicle so that the guard member can be moved between a lower position and an upper position along the side of the vehicle. As the guard member is raised to its upper position, the pivot assembly acts on the guard member to extend its length to its extended position, while lowering the guard member causes the pivot assembly to contract the guard member to its contracted position. The pivot assembly includes front and rear 'L'-shaped pivot members each having a first arm rotatably mounted in a tube attached to the underside of the vehicle, and a second arm pivotably connected to a telescoping, sliding portion of the guard member. A camming mechanism is operatively engageable between the tube and the first arm for rotating the pivot member so as to extend the guard member as the first arm moved axially out of the tube, and so as to shorten the guard member as the first arm is moved axially into the tube.
