Example implementations relate to adjusting radiofrequency transmission power of antenna devices consistent with the disclosure. For example, a non-transitory machine-readable medium storing instructions executable by a processing resource to transmit a signal using a first transmission power to query an environment surrounding an antenna device to determine whether an object is causing path loss along a communication link, and adjust a transmission power of the antenna device to a second transmission power based on a determination that an object is causing path loss along the communication link.

A location system includes multiple master nodes located at corners of a coverage area. At least two master nodes are located on one edge of the coverage area and receive signals from a slave node within the coverage area. The at least two master nodes calculate a distance to the slave node and a location of the slave node within the coverage area.

An impedance matching tuner can include a first tunable capacitor arranged in series with a radio frequency (RF) input, a second tunable capacitor arranged in shunt with the RF input, a third tunable capacitor and a first inductance device arranged in parallel with each other and in shunt with the RF input, and a fourth tunable capacitor and a second inductance device arranged in parallel with each other and in series with the RF input.

One or more embodiments include a tuner comprising a directional coupler connected between a frequency generator and a tuning cap to receive reflections on a transmit line of the directional coupler, and a controller coupled to the directional coupler and the tuning cap to monitor the reflections on the transmit line and to adjust the tuning cap based on the monitored reflections on the transmit line.

Auto-tunable wireless charger

Auto-tunable antenna devices and methods of using the same are described herein. One method for tuning an antenna of a device includes comparing a reference phase of a reference signal to a return phase of a return signal of the antenna and sending a correction signal to a tunable circuit element of the antenna in response to the reference phase being out of phase with the return phase.

In one or more embodiments, a system can include a monopole or dipole antenna, a hardware processor electrically coupled to the monopole or dipole antenna, an amplitude or power detector electrically coupled between the monopole or dipole antenna and the processor to receive signals reflected from the monopole or dipole antenna and determine an amplitude or power of the reflected signals, and a first impedance matching network electrically connected between a feed point of the monopole or dipole antenna and the detector, the first impedance matching network including a variable capacitor, the variable capacitor having a variable capacitance that is set by the hardware processor based on the amplitude or power of the reflected determined by the amplitude or power detector.

Generally discussed herein are techniques, software, apparatuses, and systems configured for tuning an antenna. In one or more embodiments, a method can include sending, by processing circuitry, one or more signals to an antenna tuner to sweep the tuner through a plurality of tuner states, determining a plurality of power values, each power value corresponding to a signal received from an antenna and each power value corresponding to the tuner being in a state of the plurality of tuner states, and sending one or more signals to the tuner to set the tuner to a tuner state of the plurality of tuner states, the tuner state determined using the determined powers.

Transmitting positions of devices is described herein. One method for transmitting a position of a device includes converting a received Global Positioning System (GPS) signal to a short range signal with a first device, transmitting the short range signal using the first device, receiving the short range signal with a second device, and transmitting a position of the second device determined from the short range signal using the second device.

Systems and methods are provided for providing a standby activation of a device. A method for providing standby activation of a device can include coupling a tag to a computing device. Furthermore, a method for providing standby activation of a device can include activating the tag utilizing a tag reader, wherein activating the tag provides access to the computing device.

An antenna includes a plurality of loops and a plurality of double pole double throw (DPDT) switches. The plurality of DPDT switches is coupled to the plurality of loops. The DPDT switches are configured to cause a change in direction of current in one or more of the plurality of loops, thereby altering a direction of a magnetic field in one or more of the plurality of loops, such that a device positioned at a plurality of positions in relation to the antenna is electromagnetically coupled to the antenna at the plurality of positions.

Switchable RFID card reader antenna

Some embodiments relate to a contactless RF coupling device that includes a first substrate and a second substrate. The RF coupling device may provide a broadband, low loss electrical connection without mechanical contact as would a conventional mechanical connector. The first substrate includes a first ground plane on one side and a first transmission line on an opposing side. The first transmission line includes an enlarged first coupling member at an end of the first transmission line. The second substrate includes a second ground plane on one side and a second transmission line on an opposing side. The second transmission line includes an enlarged second coupling member at an end of the second transmission line. The first ground plane may not extend under the first coupling member and the second ground plane may include an opening that is aligned with the second coupling member.

Misalignment tolerant contactless RF coupling device

An amplifier module for radio frequency signal circuits includes an electrically conductive housing. Two coax connectors are electrically linked to an amplifier circuit contained within the module. A separate transformer is external to the module. Both the module and the external transformer are mountable to a chassis frame. Other modules are usable in the system in addition to the amplifier module. The transformer can be wall mounted to the chassis frame, or the transformer can be internal to a module which also mounts to the chassis frame.

A module for radio frequency signal circuits includes an electrically conductive housing. Coax connectors are secured to the rear face of the housing. A circuit board is contained within the interior spaced between sidewalls of the housing. A ground side of the circuit board includes a layer of electrically conductive material which is electrically connected to the housing. Coax cables extend within the interior of the housing from the coax connectors and between the ground side of the circuit board and an opposing sidewall. An opposite side of the circuit board contains circuit components interconnected with one another through a plurality of circuit paths.

RF circuit module

A transmit/receive switching circuit is provided. The transmit/receive switching circuit comprises a first transformer to split a transmission signal into a first split transmission signal and a second split transmission signal. The first split transmission signal is out of phase with the second split transmission signal. The transmit/receive switching circuit also comprises a second transformer to split a received signal into a first split received signal and a second split received signal and to combine the first split transmission signal and the second split transmission signal. The first split received signal is out of phase with the second split received signal. The combined transmission signal is supplied to an antenna port and the received signal is received from the antenna port. The transmit/receive switching circuit also comprises a third transformer to combine the first split received signal and the second split received signal and to supply the combined received signal to a receive port of the transmit/receive switch. Finally, the transmit/receive switching circuit comprises first and second switches. Both the first and second switches are coupled to the first transformer and to the second transformer. The first switch switches between coupling the first split transmission signal to the second transformer and coupling the first split received signal to the third transformer. The second switch switches between coupling the second split transmission signal to the second transformer and coupling the second split received signal to the third transformer.

Apparatus and method for isolation and power handling in a radio frequency switch

A method of compensating for component errors within a radar altimeter is described. The method includes periodically switching transmit pulses from a transmit antenna to a programmable delay device, calculating an altitude based on a transmit pulse received from the programmable delay device, comparing the calculated altitude to an expected altitude, the expected altitude based on a pre-set delay through the programmable delay device, and compensating an altitude measured by the radar altimeter, based on transmit pulses output through the transmit antenna, by an error correction amount based on a difference between the calculated altitude and expected altitudes.
