A suction tube extends in parallel between the licker-in and the feed plate of the co-direction feed device while a supply duct extends from the fiber lap delivery point to the suction tube. The suction tube and duct serve to remove dirt by suction and extraction at the delivery point where the fiber lap is delivered to the licker-in. The supply duct extends tangentially into the suction tube in order to maintain the entrained dirt particles in a helical flow in the tube.

Feed device for a card

The card for producing a fiber includes a swift and a doffer which takes the carded fibers off the swift and supplies them to a nip formed between at least two rotating rollers. The fiber web emerging from the nip is deposited on the top run of a transverse conveyor which moves axially of the rolls between guide rollers in order to convey the fiber web laterally away from the card. The conveyor has a shoulder on at least one longitudinal side against which the fiber web may abut during travel along the transverse conveyor.

The flat cleaning apparatus employs a comb for loosening fibers and dirt particles carried by the revolving flats of the revolving flat clothing. In addition, a casing which travels across the width of the revolving system has a suction nozzle for drawing up the loosened strips of fibers and dirt particles. In addition, a brush is provided downstream of the suction nozzle which is movable relative to the flats to clean between the flats so as to release deep-seated dirt after the strips are removed. The brush is mounted in a chamber which communicates with the suction nozzle so that a suction force is available for removing the deep-seated dirt brought up by the brush.

Flat cleaning apparatus for a card

A cleaning apparatus or arrangement for cleaning a set of flats of a revolving flats card has a pivotable brush for engaging the strips or strip accumulations of the flats and a suction device arranged behind or downstream of the pivotable brush considered with respect to the direction of movement of the flats. According to the invention, a suction nozzle of the suction device is reciprocable over the length or transverse extent of the flats. By means of this arrangement, there is obtained a suction action affording a great cleaning or stripping effect at the flats despite a considerable reduction in the energy required to create the suction action in comparison with heretofore known flat cleaning or stripper arrangements.

Arrangement for cleaning the flats in a revolving flats card

The cleaning apparatus for cleaning the set of flats of a revolving flats card has a shaft supported by a carrier. The shaft is pivotable about the lengthwise axis of the shaft together with a cleaning brush fixedly mounted on the shaft and extending over the width of the card. In accordance with the invention, the carrier is movably mounted on the card framework in such a manner that at the flats cleaning position the spacing of the path of movement of the cleaning brush from the set of flats is variable, whereby during the pivotal movement of the cleaning brush effecting cleaning of the flats clothing the spacing of the path of movement of the cleaning brush from the set of flats at the flats cleaning position is smaller than during the return movement of the cleaning brush. The cleaning apparatus affords the advantage of improved cleaning of the flats clothing. In a special embodiment, improved cleaning of the cleaning brush, and thus additional improvement in cleaning of the flats clothing, is also obtained.

Cleaning apparatus for cleaning the flats of a revolving flats card

A ribbon lap unit contains support shafts for receiving and supporting a lap, a web transport means in the form of a web drafting mechanism, a web diverter, a diverter plate arrangement and a web collecting element. A web unrolled from the lap is fed through the web drafting mechanism and around the web diverter onto the diverter plate arrangement and thereafter onto the web collecting element. By means of the web diverter it is possible to arrange the diverter plate arrangement beneath the drafting mechanism. This, in turn, enables constructing a very compact machine.
