Machine and method for packaging articles by wrapping

Plural articles are arranged in a reusable crate. A cardboard blank is selected in accordance with the volume of the arranged articles. The blank has a first and a second longitudinal score line defining a main portion and a first, a second, a third and a fourth lateral portion, the blank also having a first, a second, a third and a fourth incision that subdivide auxiliary portions into first parts and second parts. The blank and the reusable crate are reciprocally positioned, the bottom of the reusable crate then opened to release the articles onto the blank. The first, second, third and fourth lateral portions are folded towards the articles, with the respective first parts and second parts of the auxiliary portions folding one on another to form respective flaps abutting the group of articles.

Method and machine for realising a box starting from a cardboard blank and for boxing a plurality of articles with the box

Forming a cardboard blank includes making two score lines on a cardboard sheet to define a central sector with three portions and two lateral sectors. Four cuts are made in a direction transverse to the score lines to form in one lateral sector a first closing flap and first and second reinforcing flaps and, in the other lateral sector, a second closing flap and third and fourth reinforcing flaps. The first and second closing flaps are folded at respective score lines, and one portion folded to cover a flank of an article on another portion so the first and third reinforcing flaps project. A third portion is folded to cover another flank and an upper article face so the second and fourth reinforcing flaps project. A band folds the first two reinforcing flaps towards the first closing flap and the third and fourth reinforcing flaps towards the second closing flap.

Method for realising a cardboard blank from a cardboard for packaging and for boxing at least an article with the cardboard blank

A machine for wrapping a film to form packs containing single articles includes a conveyor transporting the articles, an aspirated conveyor belt arranged consecutively to the conveyor, a supply station feeding a film and arranging the film with a central part resting on the conveyor belt and with lateral parts projecting from the belt, a frame associated with the conveyor belt and tunnel-conformed for passage of the articles, and folder means for abutting the projecting lateral parts of the film and winding the parts about the tunnel-conformed frame to form a tube of film about the tunnel-conformed frame. A glue device applies glue on one of the two flaps of the film and heat welding and cutting means are activatable for clamping the tube of film and heat-welding and cutting the film to obtain an envelope containing the article.

Apparatus for making a cardboard strip for packaging includes a store for a stack of cardboard sheets, a gripping mechanism for picking up a sheet from the stack and positioning another sheet on a first support for the application of adhesive, and a transfer mechanism for transferring the first sheet to rest on the second support with an end portion having the adhesive projecting towards the store and towards a third support. The third support is disposable in a raised position to raise an end portion of a second sheet coming from the store and in a lowered position to lower the end portion of the second sheet and position it at the end portion of the first sheet. A pressor presses the two superposed end portions of the two sheets to fix the end portions to one another to form a cardboard strip.

Apparatus for realising a cardboard strip for packaging by consecutively joining a plurality of cardboard sheets for packaging to one another

A conveyor of a cardboard-folding station receives a cardboard blank having a first portion, first and second lateral closing walls hinged thereto and facing upstream and downstream, respectively, an upper closing wall hinged to the second lateral closing wall and facing downstream, a third and a fourth lateral closing wall hinged and partly raised with respect to the first portion and projecting from sides of the conveyor. An article rests on the first portion, with four flanks or the article respectively facing the four lateral closing walls of the blank. At a first folding zone the third and fourth lateral closing walls are folded to cover the third and the fourth flanks of the article, and at a second folding zone the second lateral closing wall and the upper closing wall are folded to cover the article's second flank and its upper face.

A cutting station receives at an inlet a cardboard sheet having two transverse edges, two longitudinal edges, two longitudinal score lines, and four transverse score lines. The two longitudinal score lines define, a central sector between the two longitudinal score lines and two lateral sectors externally of the two longitudinal folding lines. A conveyor extending from the inlet to an outlet receives the cardboard sheet and conveys it in an advancement direction. For each, and by a flank of each, of the two sides of the conveyor are predisposed a first and a second cutting group configured for making transverse cuts on a respective one of the two lateral sectors of the cardboard sheet at the transverse score lines.

A folding station includes an inlet and an outlet and is predisposed to receive at the inlet a cardboard blank having two transversal edges, two longitudinal edges, two longitudinal score lines, and four transverse score lines. The two longitudinal score lines define therebetween a central sector and also define two lateral sectors externally of the two longitudinal score lines. Cuts in the two lateral sectors define a series of flaps. The folding station further comprises a conveyor for transporting the cardboard blank in an advancement direction to a position, a first folding bar located by a flank of a first side of the conveyor at the position, and a second folding bar located by a flank of a second side of the conveyor at the position. The first folding bar and the second folding bar rotate to fold the flaps in the two lateral sectors onto respective portions of the central sector of the cardboard blank.

A cardboard sheet is cut from a continuous cardboard strip unwound from a fanfold. A conveyor advances the strip along a conveyor plane and halts the strip for cutting. A first rotary circular blade mounted above the conveyor plane is movable in alternating translation transverse thereto and can pass through or beyond the conveyor plane to cut the continuous strip to obtain a cardboard sheet. A cutting profile of a toothed second rotary circular blade mounted above the conveyor plane contacts the continuous strip of cardboard without passing beyond it so as to realize thereon a transverse score line.

A conveyor receives a cardboard box formed about an article, with a first lateral flank uncovered. An inlet receives the cardboard box with the first lateral closing wall coplanar with a base wall, a second lateral closing box wall folded to cover a second lateral article flank, a third lateral closing box wall folded to cover a third lateral article flank, a fourth lateral closing box wall folded to cover a fourth lateral article flank, and an upper closing box wall folded to cover an upper article face. An arrest stops the box, a first folding component rotates and folds the first lateral closing box wall to cover the first lateral article flank, and second folding component rotates a closing tab (AC), hinged to the upper closing wall to fold and bring a closing tab against the first lateral closing wall for closing the cardboard box.
