A partial discharge signals processing method includes: setting a first discrimination criterion among the following criteria: discharge signals acquisition, discharge signals noise filtering, and discharge signals classification; providing a plurality of pulse waveforms associated with detected partial discharge waveform signals; defining at least a first reference pulse waveform in accordance with the first criterion; performing a first training of a neural network module based on the at least a first reference pulse waveform to produce a similarity index adapted to selectively assume a first value and a second value representative of a similarity/non similarity of an input pulse waveform with the at least a first reference pulse waveform, respectively; comparing the plurality of pulse waveforms with the at least a first reference pulse waveform by means of the neural network module to obtain first similarity index values; and memorizing/rejecting each compared pulse waveform on the basis of the obtained first similarity index values and on the second discrimination criterion.

Partial discharge signal processing method and apparatus employing neural network

A partial discharge acquisition system includes: a synchronization signal sensor device including a sensor module structured to remotely detect a first synchronization electromagnetic signal generated by an alternate current electrical voltage associated with the operation of an electrical object and provide a corresponding first detected electrical signal; a transmitting device structured to irradiate a second synchronization electromagnetic signal related with the first detected electrical signal; a partial discharge detection apparatus including: a receiving device structured to receive the second synchronization electromagnetic signal and generate a corresponding received electrical signal representing at least a timing parameter of the alternate current electrical voltage, the receiving device and the transmitting device being configured to establish a wireless communication link defining a deterministic transmission delay.

Partial discharge detection system and method with synchronization

A partial discharge detection apparatus, includes: a support structure and a first antenna configured to receive electromagnetic signals at least partially associated with partial discharges of an electric object and generate a first electrical signal, the first antenna having a first receiving effective area for first receiving directions and a second antenna configured to receive electromagnetic noise signals and generate a second electrical signal, the first and second antennas being arranged to cause the second antenna to have a second receiving effective area for the first receiving directions smaller than the first receiving effective area. The apparatus further includes a first processing module configured to generate from the first and second electrical signals a difference electrical signal representing a difference between the first electrical signal and the second electrical signal.

Partial discharge detection apparatus and method

A partial discharge detection device for detecting and measuring partial discharges in electric systems or components, which delivers signals having a form much resembling that of the radiated pulse, for improved identification and analysis. The device is of small size, totally insulated and self-powered, and allows measurements to be performed with the highest safety with no need for direct connection, thereby allowing operators to stand at a distance and avoid any system shutdown while making measurements. Furthermore, it can also detect and deliver the sync signal, which is obtained by picking up the supply voltage of the discharge generating components.
