The hollow body of an intake silencer comprises a pair of matching insert ( ) of rigid moulded plastics material which are confined in a lower-cup shaped element ( ) by a lid ( ) and which together have a T-shaped configuration with a longitudinal partition ( ) which corresponds to the leg of the T and which extends in the lower element ( ) dividing it into two juxtaposes resonance chambers ( ), and with a transverse partition ( ) which corresponds to the transverse portion of the T and which separated the juxtaposed resonance chambers ( ) from an upper outlet chamber ( ). Each insert ( ) comprises a respective upper flange ( ) corresponding to a respective half of the transverse partition. One of the inserts comprises the longitudinal partition ( ) and this longitudinal partition has a siphon-shaped half-duct ( ) in the form of a recess; the other insert ( ) comprises at least one semi-tubuler appendage ( ) of corresponding siphon-like shape, extending from the respective upper flange ( ) and constituting another half-duct which, in combination with the aforesaid recess ( ), completes the internal duct.

Intake silencer for sealed refrigerant compressor

The connecting rod comprises two separate main pieces (34, 36) one of which includes a small-end part (38), a stem part (40) and a big-end fork part (42). The other piece is constituted by a cap (46). The big-end fork part (42) and the cap (46) are retained together by means of respective pairs of interfitting ends situated in correspondence with a diametral plane of the eye of the big-end. The interfitting ends of each pair have mutual coupling formations (48).
