Described is a method for managing the traffic protection in OMS-SPRING networks and allowing the wavelength allocation change in the traffic transit nodes. The method of managing the traffic protection in an OMS-SPRING network should a span of the path fail is characterized in that it comprises the steps of providing a wavelength interchange mechanism; performing a ring Span Switch action by the OMS-SP mechanism; and re-routing the wavelength interchanged path on the protecting wavelength corresponding to the working wavelength of the span affected by a failure.

Method of managing the traffic protection in OMS-SPRING networks

A method of managing time slot interchange in transoceanic MS-SPRING networks. The method, in case of ring failure in a single span of the path installed in a transoceanic MS-SP RING with Time Slot Interchange (TSI) mechanism, comprises the step of carrying out a ring switch action by the MS-SP mechanism, and is characterized by comprising the step of re-routing the path in the time slot of the low-priority channels corresponding to the time slot of the high-priority channels of the failured span. The method according to the invention further provides for the managing of double-failure or multi-failure cases resulting in one or more nodes being isolated.

Method of managing time-slot interchange in transoceanic MS-SPRING networks

A method is disclosed for interconnecting an MS-SP ring network and an SNCP ring network in a Dual Node and Bridge and Switch architecture through a primary interconnection node and a secondary interconnection node connected by an optical fiber span, said primary interconnection node comprising means for carrying out a Drop and Continue operation and a service selector for each circuit. The architecture provides for closing said SNCP ring network through the service selector of the primary node of the MS-SP ring network. In this way the management of the selectors is simplified, less I/O interfaces as well as less optical fiber are used and the available band is better exploited.

Interconnection between telecommunication MS-SPRING and SNCP ring networks

A method and device is described for converting an STM-signal into a sub-STM-signal in synchronous radio transmission. The invention provides for the use of a pure regenerator network element without any multiplexing function. The method according to the invention provides in transmission, for reducing the received STM-signal by one third (only the first TUG-is considered as valid and is transmitted in the radio link, whereas the second and the third TUG-are considered in an unequipped condition and are not transmitted), thus maintaining the STM-structure. In reception, the method provides for reconstructing the signal with the complete regenaration of the payload and the correct structure of the AU-without incurring any parity control infringement.
