The present disclosure relates to a fluid cooled electric machine, and a method for producing the same. The fluid cooled electric machine includes a shaft extending along an axis of the machine, a rotor rotationally coupled to the shaft, a stator radially surrounding the rotor and having a stator core, first and second end shields mounted at opposite ends of the electric machine in the axial direction, and a fluid cooling system for cooling the electric machine, the stator core having a plurality of axial cavities, the fluid cooling system including first and second collector bodies, each including a plurality of collector chambers for the fluid, and a plurality of pipes.

Fluid cooled electric machine

A method of balancing a rotor and/or fixing rotor components includes arranging a plurality of generally like laminations side by side in a stack to form at least a part of a rotor. The rotor has a rotational center axis and each of the laminations having a plurality of apertures that cooperate to form passages that extend axially along a length of the stack. In accordance with an aspect of the method, a polymer based fixation material is filled in the passages in a manner to fix the laminations together in the stack. With the fixation material, a sprue is formed, projecting from an axial face of the stack. In accordance with another aspect of the method, a weight of the sprue is adjusted to rotationally balance the rotor about the rotor center axis.

A method for operating an electrical machine having a stator and having a rotor with permanent magnets, includes: running the electrical machine; determining, while performing the running of the electrical machine, whether the permanent magnets have been demagnetized; finding, while running the electrical machine, the q-axis responsive to a determination that the permanent magnets have been demagnetized; firing a current pulse through the stator, while running the electrical machine, when the q-axis reaches a desired position relative to a selected stator phase, wherein the current pulse is constructed to remagnetize the permanent magnets; and continuing to run the electrical machine.

Electrical machine and method for operating an electrical machine

A rotor for an electric motor is provided. The rotor is constructed of a stack of first and second laminations. The laminations include segments and insulated regions between the segments. The first laminations include interconnections such that the first laminations are self-supporting. The second laminations are affixed to the first laminations to support the segments of the second laminations.

A bistable permanent-magnet actuator is disclosed having a tailored switching/position force characteristic, with an adequate, modifiable holding force in the end positions. The actuator is characterized in that the yoke is formed by two parts that are mounted so as to face each other and are separated by two gaps. The dimensions of the air gaps may be tailored to obtain intended characteristics.
