Determine, based at least in-part on the at least one message, a plurality of suggested one or more characters. Display, on the touch-sensitive display, the plurality of suggested one or more characters. Detect an input on the touch-sensitive display. Determine whether the input represents user selection of one of the plurality of suggested one or more characters. Display the selected one of the plurality of suggested one or more characters in the message transcript. Send the selected one or more characters to the first user.

Embodiments described herein enable data associated with a large plurality of users to be analyzed without compromising the privacy of the user data. In one embodiment, a user can opt-in to allow analysis of clear text of the user's emails. An analysis process can then be performed in which an analysis service receives clear text of an email of a client device; processes the clear text of the email into one or more tokens having one or more tags; enriches one or more tokens in the processed email using data associated with a user of the client device and the one or more tags; and processes the clear text and one or more enriched tokens to generate a data set of one or more feature vectors.

Systems and processes for operating an intelligent automated assistant are provided. In one example process, one or more input words can be received. The process can extract, based on the one or more input words, seed data for unsupervised training of a first learning network. Training data that includes a collection of words having typographical errors for the first learning network can be obtained. The process can determine, using the first learning network and based on the seed data and the training data, one or more output words having a probability distribution corresponding to a probability distribution of the training data. The one or more output words can include typographical errors. The process can generate, based on the determined one or more output words, a data set for supervised training of a second learning network. The second learning network can provide one or more typographical error suggestions.

In one aspect, a method includes presenting content in a first application. At least a portion of the content is presented without requiring input from a user. The method further includes receiving a request to open a second application. In response to receiving the request, the second application is presented with an input-receiving field. Before receiving any user input at the input-receiving field, a selectable user interface object is displayed with an indication that the portion of the content was viewed in the first application, allowing the user to paste at least the portion of the content into the input-receiving field. In response to detecting a selection of the selectable user interface object, the portion of the content is pasted into the input-receiving field.

In one aspect, a method includes obtaining information identifying a first physical location viewed by a user in a first application. The method further includes detecting a first input. In response to detecting the first input: a second application is identified that is capable of accepting geographic location information; and an affordance is presented that is distinct from the first application, with a suggestion to open the second application. The suggestion includes information about the first physical location. The method further includes detecting a second input at the affordance. In response to detecting the second input at the affordance, the second application is opened and populated to include information that is based at least in part on the information identifying the first physical location.

Systems and methods for proactively identifying and surfacing relevant content are disclosed herein. An example method includes: detecting, via the touch-sensitive display, a search activation gesture from a user of the electronic device. The method also includes: in response to detecting only the search activation gesture, displaying a search interface on substantially all of the touch-sensitive display, the search interface including: (i) a search entry portion; and (ii) a predictions portion with one or more user interface objects each associated with a respective locally-installed application. In one aspect, a method includes executing, on the device, an application in response to an instruction from a user of the electronic device. While executing the application, the method further includes collecting usage data. The usage data at least includes one or more actions performed by the user within the application. The method also includes: automatically, without human intervention, obtaining at least one trigger condition based on the collected usage data and associating the at least one trigger condition with a particular action of the one or more actions performed by the user within the application. Upon determining that the at least one trigger condition has been satisfied, the method includes providing an indication to the user that the particular action associated with the trigger condition is available.

Systems and processes for multilingual word prediction are provided. In accordance with one example, a method includes, at an electronic device having one or more processors and memory, identifying context information of the electronic device and generating, with the one or more processors, a plurality of candidate words based on the context information, wherein a first candidate word of the plurality of candidate words corresponds to a first language of a plurality of languages and a second candidate word of the plurality of candidate words corresponds to a second language of the plurality of languages different than the first language.

An example method includes: automatically, and without instructions from a user: determining that a user of the electronic device is in a vehicle that has come to rest at a geographic location. Upon determining that the user has left the vehicle at the geographic location, the method includes automatically, and without instructions from a user: determining whether positioning information, retrieved from the location sensor to identify the geographic location, satisfies accuracy criteria. Upon determining that the positioning information does not satisfy the accuracy criteria, the method includes: providing a prompt to the user to input information about the geographic location. In response to providing the prompt, the method includes receiving information from the user about the geographic location and storing the information as vehicle location information.

Systems and methods for proactively identifying and surfacing relevant content on a touch-sensitive device

Systems and methods for proactively populating an application with information that was previously viewed by a user in a different application are disclosed herein. An example method includes: while displaying a first application, obtaining information identifying a first physical location viewed by a user in the first application. The method also includes exiting the first application and, after exiting the first application, receiving a request from the user to open a second application that is distinct from the first application. In response to receiving the request and in accordance with a determination that the second application is capable of accepting geographic location information, the method includes presenting the second application so that the second application is populated with information that is based at least in part on the information identifying the first physical location.

Differing embodiments of this disclosure may employ one or all of the several techniques described herein to perform credit card recognition using electronic devices with integrated cameras. According to some embodiments, the credit card recognition process may comprise: obtaining a first representation of a first image, wherein the first representation comprises a first plurality of pixels; identifying a first credit card region within the first representation; extracting a first plurality of sub-regions from within the identified first credit card region, wherein a first sub-region comprises a credit card number, wherein a second sub-region comprises an expiration date, and wherein a third sub-region comprises a card holder name; generating a predicted character sequence for the first, second, and third sub-regions; and validating the predicted character sequences for at least the first, second, and third sub-regions using various credit card-related heuristics, e.g., expected character sequence length, expected character sequence format, and checksums.

The present invention provides a search capability to allow a user to easily locate a menu command or other user interface element associated with a search result. In one embodiment, a user enters a search term (or a portion thereof) in a search field. A list of results is displayed, for example in a results menu.
