A single-cylinder motor having a crankshaft mounted or journalled in the crankcase by means of roller-bearing sets. A crank web or lobe with a crankshaft pin is arranged at one end of the crankshaft. The crankshaft pin is drivingly connected via a connecting rod with the piston of the piston-cylinder unit. The other end of the crankshaft, in the region of the end segment thereof, carries the rotor of a magneto ignition device, whereby an end journal of the crankshaft can be coupled with a power take-off or output member. To journal or mount the crankshaft, the roller-body sets are arranged axially nondetachable in a sleeve which coaxially surrounds the crankshaft, whereby the sleeve is pressed or forced into a recess of the crankcase. The sleeve, the roller body sets, and the crankshaft form a structural unit capable of being preassembled. As a result, it is possible to securely press into place both roller body sets, whereupon the thus preassembled structural unit is securely mounted in the recess of the crankcase by being pressed therein. The assembly into the crankcase is uncomplicated and saves time. The arrangement of the roller body sets according to the present invention additionally makes possible a shorter overall length of the single-cylinder motor.

Single-cylinder motor

A safety device on a power saw which is provided with two handles, especially for a power chain saw. The saw has a brake which engages a drive member of the cutting tool of the saw under the effect of a force retainer; the brake is held in the ineffective or inoperative position by a stop which is actuated by operating elements associated with the two handles. The stop is locked in its locking position and is releasable by means of an adjustment device which is driven by an energy source supplied by the engine of the saw, and is controlled by a control device which is connected to the operating elements which are embodied as key or contact switches.

Safety device on a power saw

A cutting head, especially grass cutting head for a free-cutting device having a main body which essentially comprises two discs spaced axially from each other and rigidly connected with each other; between and approximately parallel to the discs are arranged at least two pivotally mounted, blade-like cutting tools which, during rotation of the cutting head, project beyond the peripheral edge of the discs and, because of the arising centrifugal force, align themselves radially outwardly. A pivot pin is rigidly connected with the cutting tool; the pivot pin extends upwardly and downwardly beyond the cutting plane, and is held approximately parallel to the axis of rotation and is partially surrounded by bearing seats of the discs; these bearing seats are located axially across from each other and are open approximately toward the axis of rotation of the cutting head.

Cutting head for a free-cutting device

A portable motor chain saw with a braking device, for stopping the saw chain during recoil, and with a release, for the braking device, which in the release position is operatively connected with a locking mechanism of the braking device. The release is an inertial mass which is freely movable along an acceleration path, with the kinetic energy of the inertial mass in the release position being greater than the resistance force of the locking mechanism. The release is held in the ready position by at least one holder, preferably a spring which extends between the saw housing and the release.
