In a method for making an on-chip interconnect for conveying between a set of initiators and a set of targets in which traffic is organized in classes of service, priority values representing the classes of service are associated with the traffic. The method further includes propagating the priority values towards the points of the network where an arbitration is performed between two classes of service of the traffic, and providing arbitration as a function of the priority values.

On-chip interconnect method, system and corresponding computer program product

A system comprises a resource, such as an interconnection, for example, of the Network-on-Chip (NoC) type, having an overall bandwidth available for allocation to a set of initiators that compete for allocation of the overall bandwidth. The system includes a communication arbiter for allocating the overall bandwidth to the initiators according to respective values of bandwidth requested (RBW) by the initiators. A control device () is configured to detect the deviation between the value of bandwidth allocated to the initiators and the respective value of requested bandwidth and allocate the overall bandwidth to the initiators in a dynamic way minimizing the mean value of the deviation.

A method for managing a queue, such as for example a FIFO queue, and executing a look-ahead function on the data contained in the queue includes associating to the data in the queue respective state variables (C, C, . . . CK), the value of each of which represents the number of times a datum is present in the queue. The look-ahead function is then executed on the respective state variables, preferentially using a number of state variables (C, C, . . . CK) equal to the number of different values that may be assumed by the data in the queue. The look-ahead function can involve identification of the presence of a given datum in the queue and is, in that case, executed by verifying whether among the state variables (C, C, . . . CK) there exists a corresponding state variable with non-nil value.

Method and device for managing queues, and corresponding computer program product

A system for exchanging information in an on-chip communication network using optical flow information for communication between Intellectual Property cores. The information is exchanged between a plurality of initiators and targets in the Intellectual Property cores. The system includes a router for propagating optical flow information from the initiators to the targets. Each initiator includes an interface to convert the traffic generated by the initiator and transmit it in the form of an optical flow within the on-chip communication network, and each target includes an interface to convert information from the optical form into the electrical form. The system is organized as a parametric system and includes programming module to define a first set of high level parameters, a second set of initiator network interface parameters and a third set of target network interface parameters.
