In an epicyclic gear system, each planet gear is connected by a respective connecting pin to an asymmetric planet carrier having two plate portions connected to each other, and only one of which is connectable to a reaction member; and at least one end portion of each connecting pin and the plate portion connected to the reaction member are connected by a radially undulated annular wall flexible angularly and radially.

Epicyclic gear system

Epicyclical gearing comprising a first and a second gear wheel turning around respective mutually parallel axes, each one comprising a respective first and a respective second crown wheel that are adjacent to each other; the gearing also comprising at least one third and at least one fourth gear wheel that are separate and mutually independent, a support body for the third and fourth gear wheels, the support body having hinge pins formed therewith as a one piece structure, the hinge pins providing a mount for the third and fourth gear wheels on the support body in a rotational manner around a third and, respectively, a fourth hinge axis parallel to the axes, the third gear wheel meshing with the respective first crown wheels and the respective fourth gear wheel meshing with the respective second crown wheels.

Gearing

A pin for connecting a gear to a supporting member has a first and a second longitudinal end portion connectable to the supporting member; a first intermediate portion extending from the first end portion; and a second intermediate portion extending from the second end portion, and which differs in size from the first intermediate portion and has a flexural strength differing from that of the first intermediate portion.

A helicopter transmission presenting at least a first reduction unit receiving motion from a respective engine on the helicopter; and a second reduction unit connected to the first reduction unit and transmitting motion to the shaft of the main rotor; both reduction units presenting one reduction stage, and each including a pair of face gears coaxial with and facing each other and only one of which is fitted to the output shaft of the respective reduction unit; and two pinions of which one is a floating input pinion and the other is a fixed-axis pinion, and each of which meshes with both the face gears.
