A method for controlling a hybrid drive system for a road vehicle provided with at least a pair of drive wheels; the hybrid drive system comprises: an internal combustion heat engine, which is designed to transmit the motion to the drive wheels and is provided with a turbocharger equipped with a turbine; a first electric machine, which is able to transmit the motion to the drive wheels; and a second electric machine, which is mechanically connected to the turbine of the turbocharger. In a possible operating mode, the internal combustion heat engine is controlled to pursue a target torque by completely opening a throttle valve, operating the second electric machine as an electric generator and the first electric machine as a motor, and varying the electric power generated by the second electric machine so as to adjust the flow rate of fresh air fed to the cylinder of the internal combustion heat engine.

Method to control a hybrid drive system for a road vehicle

An electric power system for a vehicle provided with a storage assembly comprising a first storage system with a number of electrochemical cells connected to one another in series and/or in parallel and a second storage system arranged in series to the first system and with a number of electrochemical cells connected to one another in series and/or in parallel; wherein the storage assembly is designed to supply power with a dual voltage; and wherein the electric power system comprises, furthermore, a DC/DC converter, which is designed to transfer the electric charge from the second storage system to the first storage system, and vice versa, and integrated in a BMS device for the management of said storage assembly, which is designed to carry out the balancing of the electrochemical cells of the second storage system and to estimate the state of charge and the state of health of the two storage systems.

A hybrid vehicle comprising: a pair of drive wheels; an internal combustion heat engine; an electrically controlled transmission; a control unit of the heat engine; a control unit of the transmission; a passenger compartment having a driver's seat provided with a plurality of controls that can be operated by the driver and comprise a steering wheel, an accelerator pedal, a brake pedal and transmission control means; and an electronic control unit of the transmission control means that is physically installed in the passenger compartment close to the transmission control means, fulfills the function of acquiring the current position of the transmission control means and also fulfills the function of vehicle management unit by receiving the orders given by the driver and by providing the control unit of the heat engine and the control unit of the transmission with the corresponding objectives to meet the driver's needs.

Hybrid vehicle provided with an electronically controlled transmission

A method of controlling a hybrid vehicle during regenerative deceleration, the method including: determining deceleration of the vehicle; upon determining deceleration of the vehicle, operating a reversible electric machine as a generator to regenerate part of the kinetic energy of the vehicle; establishing a respective minimum speed of an internal combustion engine for each gear of a servocontrolled mechanical power train; determining and engaging the highest gear which, combined with the current state of motion of the vehicle, runs the internal combustion engine at higher than the respective minimum speed; keeping the gear engaged as long as the internal combustion engine runs at higher than the respective minimum speed; and downshifting by one gear when the internal combustion engine runs at lower than the respective minimum speed.

Method of controlling a hybrid vehicle during regenerative deceleration

A control system with multiprocessor architecture for an internal combustion powertrain is disclosed. The control system has a computing unit capable of executing both basic control functions of the powertrain and ancillary control functions not directly related to the control of the powertrain. The computing unit comprises a main processor, which is dedicated to executing basic functions for controlling the powertrain, at least one auxiliary processor, which is dedicated to executing ancillary control functions, a number of memories, a series of peripheral devices, at least one peripheral bus connection, to which the peripheral devices are connected, and an intelligent main bus connection of the cross-bar bus type to allow the processors to communicate with the memories and with the peripheral bus connection.

Control system with multiprocessor architecture for an internal combustion powertrain

A device for controlling the air/fuel ratio of the mixture supplied to an endothermal engine, in which a first and a second oxygen sensor disposed along an exhaust duct of the engine upstream and, respectively, downstream of a catalytic converter generate a first and respectively a second signal representative of the stoichiometric compositions of the combusted gases, the device having a first control circuit receiving as input the first signal and generating a correction parameter adapted to be applied to a quantity of fuel calculated in an open loop in order to obtain a corrected quantity of fuel for an injection unit of the engine, the device having a second control circuit which receives the second signal, supplies a correction signal to the first circuit in order to modify the correction parameter and has a control branch adapted to sample the second signal at a predetermined time frequency and to vary the correction signal when the difference between two successively sampled values is greater than a predetermined threshold so as to modify the air/fuel ratio and to minimise the time in which the catalytic converter operates at low efficiency.

The fuel and comburent feed assembly of a combustion engine comprises a container having an internal chamber and housing an intake manifold of the engine, a filtration element of the comburent, a multiplicity of injection devices of the fuel to the intake pipes of the engine, a throttled body arranged at the inlet of the manifold to regulate the inflow of the comburent inside the manifold itself, sensors for measuring quantities essential to the operation of the engine, and an electronic unit for controlling the injection devices according to the data recorded by sensors.

Integrated fuel and comburent feed assembly

An electronic unit having three connectors connected to three other connectors which constitute the terminal parts of respective bundles of electric cables. A first bundle relates to cables connected to the actuators, sensors and devices installed in the bodywork of the vehicle, a second bundle relates to cables connected to the actuators, sensors, and devices installed in the engine of the vehicle, and a third bundle relates to cables connected to the actuators, sensors, and devices installed in the air intake assembly. The unit is carried by a body of the air intake assembly.
