The invention relates to a hydrocarbon composition, which can be used as a fuel and/or fuel oil, containing a petroleum component (A) and a component of a biological origin (B), wherein the component of a biological origin is present in a quantity of up to 75% by volume with respect to the total composition. Said component of a biological origin (B) is prepared starting from a mix of a biological origin (C) containing esters of fatty acids, with possible aliquots of free fatty acids, by means of a process which comprises the following steps:

A process is described for producing hydrocarbon fractions which can be used as diesel fuel or as components of diesel fuel, starting from a mixture of a biological origin containing esters of fatty acids possibly with amounts of free fatty acids, which comprises the following steps: 1) hydrodeoxygenation of the mixture of a biological origin; 2) hydroisomerization of the mixture resulting from step (1), after possible purification treatment, said hydroisomerization being effected in the presence of a catalytic system which comprises: a) a carrier of acid nature comprising a completely amorphous micro-mesoporous silico-alumina having a SiO/AlOmolar ratio ranging from 30 to 500, a surface area greater than 500 m/g, a pore volume ranging from 0.3 to 1.3 ml/g, an average pore diameter lower than 40 &#x212b;, b) a metallic component containing one or more metals of group VIII, possibly mixed with one or more metals of group VIB.

Process for producing hydrocarbon fractions from mixtures of a biological origin

A process has been developed for producing diesel boiling range fuel from renewable feedstocks such as plant and animal fats and oils. The process involves treating a renewable feedstock by hydrogenating and deoxygenating to provide a hydrocarbon fraction useful as a diesel boiling range fuel. Water is added to the deoxygenation reaction to drive carbon monoxide and water to react to form hydrogen and carbon dioxide. The hydrogen is then consumed by the reactions. If desired, the hydrocarbon fraction can be isomerized to improve cold flow properties.

Production of diesel fuel from renewable feedstocks with reduced hydrogen consumption

Process for the contemporaneous production of fuels and lubricating bases from synthetic paraffinic mixtures, which includes a hydrocracking step in the presence of a solid bi-functional catalyst comprising: (A) a support of an acidic nature consisting of a catalytically active porous solid, including silicon, aluminum, phosphorus and oxygen bonded to one another in such a way as to form a mixed amorphous solid characterized by an Si/Al atomic ratio of between 15 and 250, a P/Al ratio of at least 0.1, but lower than 5, a total pore volume ranging from 0.5 to 2.0 ml/g, with an average pore diameter ranging from 3 nm. to 40 nm, and a specific surface area ranging from 200 to 1000 M2/g; (B) at least one metal with a hydro-dehydrogenating activity selected from groups 6 to 10 of the periodic table of elements, dispersed on said support (A) in an amount of between 0.05 and 5% by weight with respect to the total weight of the catalyst.

The invention relates to a fluid catalytic cracking process for the preparation of good quality hydrocarbon fractions with a high octane number starting from heavy hydrocarbon fractions of a poorer quality characterized in that the heavy hydrocarbon fraction is put in contact, under cracking conditions, with a catalytic composition comprising a conventional FCC catalyst and a quantity of between 3-60% of a hydrothermally stable microporous material containing titanium.
