In an embodiment, the system includes a direct input device (the 'client') executing a client application ('app'), a secondary device (the &#x201c;server&#x201d;) executing a server app, and a network link between the server and the client. The server app transmits to the client app, via the network link, a portion of the content displayed on the server's computer screen. The client app may display this portion. Whenever the user interacts with the client device, the client app transmits those interactions to the server app over the network link. The server app sends an acknowledgement to the client app and provides the received interactions to the spatial input software executing on the server, and the spatial input software consumes the interactions as if the user performed the interactions on the server device itself.

Event latency mitigation and screen selection

Methods and apparatuses that identify one of a plurality of modes from a web page associated with a document received at a browser are described. An identified mode may correspond to a user interface configuration. A portion of content may be extracted from the document for a presentation configured by the user interface configuration. A presentation of the extracted content may be displayed on a display screen while excluding a reset of the document without displaying the web page.

Mode identification for selective document content presentation

Systems and method are provided for updating the presentation of a map based on search request information. The method may display, at a computing device, an interface that includes a search mode view of a map and a search box. Additionally, the method may receive input into the search box. The input may cause a display of a menu that includes a list of geographic locations according to the received input. Furthermore, the method may display visual indicators on the search mode view of the map according to the list of geographic locations. Moreover, the method may receive selection input corresponding to a selected geographic location from the list of geographic locations. Subsequently, the method may update the interface by replacing the search mode view with a confirmed mode view. The confirmed mode view may include a selection highlight indicator that corresponds to the selected geographic location.

Adaptive mapping of search results

Methods and apparatuses to filter multimedia content are described. The multimedia content in one embodiment is analyzed for one or more parameters. The multimedia content in one embodiment is filtered based on the one or more parameters using a latent semantic mapping ('LSM') filter. In one embodiment, the one or more parameters include information about a structure of the multimedia content. A tag that encapsulates the one or more parameters may be generated. Then, the tag is input into the latent semantic mapping filter. In one embodiment, the LSM filter is trained to recognize the multimedia content based on the one or more parameters. In one embodiment, more than two categories are provided for a multimedia content. The multimedia content is classified in more than two categories using the LSM filter. The multimedia content may be blocked based on the classifying.

Multimedia content filtering

Systems and methods are provided for processing user search request information and for updating the presentation of a map based on the processed search request information. User search information may be associated with one or more locations shown by the map. Each location associated with the user search information may be highlighted on the map. As the user refines the user search information, the map may be automatically updated such that only the locations associated with the refined user search information may be highlighted. A textual list of location names associated with highlighted locations may be concurrently displayed with the map. When a user selects one of the names in the list, the highlighted location associated with that name may be visually distinguished from the other highlighted locations.

An apparatus and method are described for performing content filtering of encrypted network transactions. For example, in one embodiment, for an encrypted Internet transaction (such as an HTTPS transaction), a local cache lookup is performed using the network address of the requested Internet transaction to determine if name resolution data associated with the transaction is stored in a name resolution data cache. If name resolution data associated with the transaction is stored in the name resolution data cache, then the name resolution data is compared with a whitelist of acceptable Internet names. The requested Internet transaction is allowed only if a match is found between the name resolution data and one of the Internet names on the whitelist.
