Silane diimidic tetracarboxylic perylene dyes, the composite pigments obtainable therefrom by means of grafting onto an inorganic substrate, and the processes for preparing same. The dyes have the general formula: ##STR1## in which R is the residue of a silane group of formula: ##STR2## in which n is 3, 4 or 5; q is 0 or 1; p and m are such integers than when q is 0, p is 3 and m is 0, 1, 2 or 3, and when q is 1, p is 2 and m is 0, 1 or 2; R.sub.2 is an alkyl C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 or a phenyl; R.sub.3 is an alkoxyl C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 ; R.sub.1 may be the same as R or represent an alkyl C.sub.1 -C.sub.6, a cycloalkyl, a phenyl optionally substituted by one or more alkyl or alkoxyl groups C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 or a halogen. The dyes and the composite pigments obtained from said dyes are utilized in paints, air and stove enamels, in the pigmentation of plastic materials, and in printing inks.

Silane diimidic tetracarboxylic perylene dyes, the composite pigments obtainable therefrom by means of grafting onto an inorganic substrate, and the processes for preparing same. The dyes have the general formula: ##STR1## in which R is the residue of a silane group of formula: ##STR2## in which n is 3, 4 or 5; q is 0 or 1, p and m are such integers than when q is 0, p is 3 and m is 0, 1, 2 or 3, and when q is 1, p is 2 and m is 0, 1 or 2; R.sub.2 is an alkyl C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 or a phenyl; R.sub.3 is an alkoxyl C.sub.1 -C.sub.2 ; R.sub.1 may be the same as R or represent an alkyl C.sub.1 -C.sub.6, a cycloalkyl, a phenyl optionally substituted by one or more alkyl or alkoxyl groups C.sub.1 -C.sub.6 or a halogen. The dyes and the composite pigments obtained from said dyes are utilized in paints, air and stove enamels, in the pigmentation of plastic materials, and in printing inks.

Silane diimidic tetracarboxylic perylene dyes

This invention relates to organic dyes containing silane groups; composite pigments obtainable by grafting said dyes onto an inorganic substrate; and, the respective processes for preparing said dyes and composite pigments. The dyes have general formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 and R.sub.2, which may be equal or different, are selected from the group consisting of H, --NH.sub.2, --NHR wherein R is an alkyl group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms or a phenyl group, --NHCOCH.sub.3, --NHCOC.sub.6 H.sub.5, --NO.sub.2, a halogen, --OH, --O--C.sub.6 H.sub.5 and --S--C.sub.6 H.sub.5 ; n is a number selected from 3, 4 and 5; W is selected from the group consisting of an alkyl group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms and a phenyl group; Y is an alkoxy group having from 1 to 4 carbon atoms; q is a number selected from 0 and 1; X is 3 and m is a number selected from 0, 1, 2 and 3 when q is 0; x is 2 and m is a number selected from 0, 1 and 2 when q is 1. The composite pigments obtained from said dyes are employed in the painting products, air enamels and stoving enamels, in the pigmentation of plastic materials, in the inks and in the printing of fabrics.

Organic dyes containing silane groups and process for preparing same

There are described silanic phtalocyaninic dyes; composite pigments obtainable by grafting said dyes on an inorganic substrate, and, processes for preparing said dyes and said composite pigments. The dyes are of the following general formula: ##STR1## wherein: Pc is the residue of the phtalocyanine which may be metallized with a metal selected from the group consisting of Co, Ni and Cu; R.sub.1 is selected from the group consisting of H and alkaline metals; R.sub.2 and R.sub.3, equal or different, are selected from the group consisting of H, alkyls having up to 4 carbon atoms, cycloalkyls and aryls; R.sub.4 is selected from the group consisting of an alkyl with from C.sub.1 to C.sub.4 and phenyl; R.sub.5 is an alcoxyl C.sub.1 -C.sub.4 ; n is 3, 4 or 5; q is 0,1; p and m are such integers that when q is 0 p is 3 and m is 0, 1, 2 or 3, and when q is 1, p is 2 and m is 0, 1, 2; a and c are numbers in the range of 1 to 3 and b is a number in the range of 0 to 2, chosen in such a way that the sum a+b+c.ltoreq.4; and wherein each of the four benzenic rings of the phtalocyanine is bound to only one single sulphonic group (--SO.sub.3 R.sub.1) or sulphonamidic group. The composite pigments obtained from above mentioned dyes find their use in varnishes, air-drying or stoving enamels, in the pigmentation of plastic materials as well as in printing inks.
