A control method for a balancing lifting gear which includes a lifting motor that can be actuated by a controller and uses a control handle with a force sensor to lift and lower a load-supporting device. In a 'Balance' operating mode, the load-supporting device, with or without a picked-up load, is raised or lowered by the controller in response to a force applied by an operator. In order to ensure disturbance-free handling of a load when removing or attaching a load, a 'Pick-up' operating mode or an &#x201c;Assemble&#x201d; operating mode is selected, in which the load-supporting device is moved independently without the influence of the force of the operator by the controller in the lifting or lowering direction in dependence upon the signals determined by the force sensor. A balancing lifting gear which operates in accordance with the aforementioned control method is also disclosed.

The invention relates to a circuit arrangement comprising a hoist controller () of a hoist (), a control pendant () having an emergency stop switch (), and a control line () which electrically connects the hoist controller () to the control pendant () and has a control voltage applied thereto. In order to provide a circuit arrangement for monitoring an emergency stop switch of a hoist having a pendant switch, which circuit arrangement can be used to reliably detect a short circuit, it is proposed to assign a controller () to the emergency stop switch (), which controller superimposes a cyclical pulse on the control voltage, and to design the hoist controller () in such a manner that said hoist controller monitors the cyclical pulse and switches the hoist () to a safe state in the absence of the cyclical pulse.

A method for setting the parameters of electronic motor controls of hoisting equipment with a control mechanism () for the hoisting equipment with at least one hoisting switch (), one lowering switch () and one emergency shutoff switch () and with a display () in which the following steps are preformed:(i) starting of the parameter setup mode,(ii) automatic, sequential run-through and display of all parameters,(iii) binary selection of a displayed parameter, if so desired,(iv) changing of the setting of the selected parameter, if so desired,(v) saving of the changes,(vi) termination of the parameter setup mode.
