In some examples, a computing device is configured to monitor an air quality of a vehicle cabin by at least receiving, from a plurality of remote sensors distributed throughout the cabin, signals indicative of one or more air quality parameters for air in the cabin. Based on the received signals, the computing device can determine if values for the one or more air quality parameters are indicative of an air quality event and generate an output in response to such a determination. The output may include, for example, an audio or visual indication of the air quality event or a signal to control another system of the aircraft to take action to remedy the air quality event.

Air quality monitoring

A mobile sanitization system includes a movable trolley having an arm that is extendable between a first position in which the arm is in a collapsed state and a second position in which the arm is extended outwardly. The mobile sanitization system includes at least one ultraviolet light source coupled to the arm that is configured to illuminate to disinfect. The mobile sanitization system includes a source of liquid disinfectant and at least one nozzle fluidly coupled to the source of liquid disinfectant. The nozzle is coupled to at least one of the trolley and the arm, and the nozzle is configured to dispense the liquid disinfectant. The mobile sanitization system includes a spray wand removably coupled to the trolley and fluidly coupled to the source of liquid disinfectant. The spray wand is removable from the trolley to dispense the liquid disinfectant to disinfect a targeted area.

Mobile sanitization systems and methods

The disclosure describes a method for disinfecting an aircraft cabin that includes injecting a non-peroxide disinfectant into an environmental control system of an aircraft and discharging cabin supply air through the environmental control system to discharge the non-peroxide disinfectant into the aircraft cabin. In some instances, the method includes aerosolizing the disinfectant into a plurality of liquid droplets while injecting the disinfectant into the environmental control system. In some instances, the injected disinfectant includes a non-corrosive, non-toxic disinfectant, such that the disinfectant may be discharged into the aircraft cabin in the presence of personnel in the aircraft cabin.

A system configured to compress air to be used by a power generation system includes a first compressor stage configured to be driven by exhaust air from the power generation system and a second compressor stage configured to be driven by electrical power generated by the power generation system.

Air supply system

A distributed bleed system temperature management scheme utilizes a distributed, closed loop temperature protection function. By allowing consumer systems to limit the consumer flow to meet a specified bleed system outlet temperature (which may be different for each consumer or group of consumers), each system can be penalized according to their level of importance. The closed loop approach allows optimization of the performance reduction instead of relying on conservative assumptions as is done with conventional systems. In some embodiments, each consumer system may have a different temperature limit at which the consumed flow is limited to maintain a given bleed system exit temperature. The temperature setpoints may be separated by a minimum temperature, based on sensor and controls tolerances, to ensure that the flow limiting functions do not interact with each other.

Distributed bleed system temperature management

A fuel tank inerting system uses two 'half systems' for providing inerting gas for the fuel tanks. Each inerting system may be composed of a temperature control and air pressurization unit (TCPU) and an air separation unit (ASU). A cross-ship duct and valve allows using one TCPU (sized for about half capacity or more, but less than full system capacity) connected to two ASUs. The inerting system may provide for redundancy in the TCPU section.

The present invention provides a system and method for cooling the bleed air supply in an on-board inert gas generation system. The gas generation system cools the bleed air using a turbocompressor in conjunction with heat exchangers. Exhaust from a regenerative heat exchanger providing air to the turbocompressor is ported to a ram air outlet using a flow-restriction/ejector unit.
