An isolated work space is created within a confined area used as an airflow plenum to inhibit the spread of debris and/or contamination. For example, a work area can be formed in an under-floor space of a datacenter. Forming the work area includes erecting an airflow barrier to surround a work area portion of the under-floor space, forming a lower-perimeter seal to seal a bottom edge of the airflow barrier, forming an upper-perimeter seal to seal a top edge of the airflow barrier, operatively connecting a vacuum source with the work area portion, and operating the vacuum source to reduce the air pressure within the work area portion relative to the remaining portion of the under-floor space.

Pressurized under-floor work environment

A modular cooling apparatus for cooling one or more rack-mounted electronic component enclosures in a datacenter includes a base duct section and a duct assembly. The base duct section includes an inlet to receive a cooling airflow and an outlet to transfer to the cooling airflow to the duct assembly. The duct assembly is connected to the base duct section. The duct assembly includes one or more modular duct sections. Each of the one or more modular duct sections has a vent and is configured such that the vent aligns with an exterior opening in the respective one of the one or more electronic component enclosures.

Cooling intake duct

A data center can include at least one computing room, and at least one rack system disposed in the computing room. The rack system includes a plurality of racks each having a rack housing and a plurality of computing devices mounted to the rack housing. The data center can further include a cooling system that includes a modular air distribution duct configured to direct cold air to different ones of the racks.

Cooling system for data center

A data center can include an inflatable enclosure in which rack computer systems can be installed and can provide computing capacity. The inflatable enclosure includes an inflatable structure which is at least partially inflated based on cooling air discharged into the inflatable enclosure by one or more cooling modules. A cooling module can include a cooling system and a cooling air vent, where the cooling system adjustably induces a stream of cooling air and the cooling air vent adjustably directs the cooling air stream into a particular space enclosed by an inflatable structure. The inflatable enclosure can be established by separate modules positioned on opposite sides of a space and an inflatable structure which extends across the space between the modules. The inflatable structure can be extended over additional spaces to expand the inflatable enclosure, thereby providing additional space to install rack computer systems.

Inflatable data center

A power busway interposer enables a power busway assembly of energized busway segments to be extended, via coupling additional busway segments to the assembly, while maintaining energization of the assembly. As a result, a power busway assembly providing power support to electrical loads can be extended while maintaining power support to the electrical loads. The interposer includes separate sets of connectors that couple with separate busway segments and a switching device which selectively electrically couples the connectors, so that a power busway connector can be de-energized while another separate power busway connector is coupled to an energized busway segment and then subsequently energized. Extending the power busway assembly can include coupling separate sets of connectors to separate busway segments, where the separate sets of connectors are electrically isolated, and adjusting the switching device to electrically couple the separate sets of connectors, so that power is distributed between coupled busway segments.

Power busway interposer

A communicative building management system (BMS) can enable replication of data from computer systems that may potentially be affected by various external events. The BMS is coupled to environmental sensors and configured to receive sensor signals and communicate with one or more computer systems implementing a service. The BMS notifies a console system administrating a service that one or more computer systems implementing the service are affected by a data center event based on signals received from one or more sensor devices associated with a zone including the affected computer systems. A console system commands replication of data stored on the affected computer systems to separate computer systems based at least in part on the notification from the BMS indicating the computer systems are affected by the data center event.
