Improved systems are directed to electronic devices that operate in conjunction with a control mechanism and various sensors. A learning protocol is established to provide a technical solution whereby sensor signal from the various sensors is utilized to implement an incremental approach to using sensed information. The electronic devices can be luminaires, and the control mechanism a lighting control mechanism. The sensing, for example, can include sensory information from at least one remote sensing device and at least one local sensing device to control changes in operation of one or more connected electronic devices.

Systems and methods for automated control of electronic devices on basis of behavior

A series of interconnected (directly or indirectly), coupled lighting panels is provided, the coupled lighting panels linked to one another such that various shapes and designs can be created using various arrangements of the coupled lighting panels, the lighting panels of some embodiments adapted to avoid dark spots proximate to lighting circuitry disposed therein. The lighting panels can be luminaires, and may be provided in various geometric shapes, having various dimensionalities (e.g., a flat 2 dimensional shape, or a 3 dimensional shape). Various control systems, connectors, housings, frames, and lighting systems are also described.

Systems and methods for providing coupled lighting panels

In some embodiments, a configurable lighting device, connectors, controllers, and methods for layout detection are provided. The configurable lighting devices, suitably connected, form an assembly of configurable lighting devices that can be removably connected with one another and re-arranged. Connectors are provided that form mechanical and electrical connections between configurable lighting devices such that a flow of electricity and control signals may be propagated without the need for direct connection between every configurable lighting device and a controller. The controller or devices connected to the controller are configured to perform layout detection such that pleasing visualizations may be rendered across the assembly that are rendered using at least the detected layout. When the configuration of the configurable lighting devices changes, the layout detection is automatically updated.

Systems and methods for connecting and controlling configurable lighting units

An LED bulb comprises a structural shell formed by folding a flat PCB into a three-dimensional polyhedron shape and a fitting for removably coupling the bulb to a light socket. The PCB comprises a plurality of LEDs, at least one LED mounted electronically on a plurality of faces of the polyhedron, and a driver circuit for driving each LED. The perimeter of the PCB is shaped to join adjacent faces. Each LED produces minimal excess heat, which is partially conducted by a metallic heat sink bridge to the PCB and dissipated to the air through the PCB and through a plurality of spaces in the shell.

LED light

The light intensity level of a dimmable LED bulb is set by interruption of the AC signal by the user. The bulb's driver circuit includes a controller having dimmer control logic for controlling the brightness. Optionally, the LED bulb can be dimmed by an external TRIAC dimmer.
