A method of manufacturing at least one device defining a volume for retaining fluid or sensitive material capable of changing physical properties, particularly optical properties, via application of voltage, or electrical properties via stress or radiation, the device including a first front substrate and a second back substrate maintained at a constant distance from each other, and joined by a sealing joint which defines the volume, wherein the method includes the steps of: structuring at least one wall, which defines, via its inner lateral face, the volume for retaining the sensitive medium or fluid, on one of the substrates; joining the second substrate to the first substrate; introducing a sealing material into a gap defined by the outer lateral face of the wall and the two superposed substrates until at least part of the gap is occupied by sealing material, and solidifying the sealing material to form the sealing frame.

The present invention concerns a method for manufacturing a plurality of multi-layered cells, particularly liquid crystal display cells, or electrochemical photovoltaic cells, or a combination of such cells, each cell including at least two superposed sealed cavities each delimited by a sealing frame and filled with a liquid, this method comprising the step of collectively manufacturing a batch of cells including at least three plates common to all the display cells and connected to each other by patterns of sealing material connecting said plates to each other and forming the sealing frames which delimit the cavities of said cells, this method being characterised in that filling holes are pierced through the plates such that each of the cavities of a cell is fed by a different filling hole, each of the filling holes being in communication with at least two cells and feeding the cavities of the same level, i.e. comprised between the same two plates, or different levels of these at least two cells, said filling holes being isolated in a sealed manner from the cavities that they must not feed.

The device includes an indicator () in the shape of a plate, moving behind a dial () having a circular aperture (), which represents the lunar disc. The indicator includes an S-shaped line of separation () between a dark zone () and a light zone () representing the non-illuminated part and the illuminated part of the moon in the aperture. The indicator is rotatably mounted at the centre of symmetry C of the line of separation () on a rotating support making two revolutions per lunation. An image matching the appearance of the moon in each phase is thus obtained. Such a device can be used particularly in a watch or another timepiece.
