A grip handle adapted to be fixed to the end of a pole for use in an outdoor activity, such as skiing or hiking, including a body and a support member affixed to the body and projecting from a transverse wall of the body, the support member being arranged to support the thumb of a user holding the handle. An element for retaining a boot on a skid, the retention element including a base provided to be affixedly connected to the ski, overlaid by a body, a jaw having two independent retaining wings journalled to the body about a vertical axle, the wings having, beyond their journal axle, a tip exerting an action by pressure on the head of a movable tie rod biased by a spring. A rocker, journalled with respect to the base, is inserted between the tips and the head of the tie rod, the tips being in support against an arm of the rocker, and the rocker being mounted asymmetrically with respect to the base or the tips.

The invention relates to an element for retaining a boot on a ski including a body and a retaining jaw that are generally symmetrical with respect to a longitudinal and vertical median plane, the jaw being biased by a return spring housed in the body, the return spring being connected to the jaw by an anchor having two lateral arms, a central strap and a central fork having two teeth, the spring elastically maintaining the arms of the anchor in support against two retaining pins affixed to the body, the jaw having a median pin engaged between the two teeth of the fork. At least one of the elements of the anchor, which are the arms, the strap and the fork, is asymmetrical with respect to the longitudinal and vertical median plane defined by the body and the jaw.

A device for supporting a boot on a ski, comprising a PTFE plate (7) assembled by direct contact and intimate surface bonding to a support (8) made of a thermo-hardening material, more specifically thermo-hardening rubber. On its surface, the device incorporates a raised pattern produced by deformation of the PTFE plate during the molding of its support (8) and resulting from the vulcanization reaction. Furthermore, vulcanization ensures assembly of the plate to its support.

Device for supporting a boot on a ski

A ski brake designed to slow the travel of a ski. The brake comprises two brake arms (2, 3) incorporating two functional braking segments (4, 5) movable in rotation between a functional braking position and a non-functional resting position around a substantially transverse pin (10, 11) borne by a base (20), two actuators (12, 13) of the brake arms which extend beyond the transverse hinge pin, and a return spring (35). The brake arms (2, 3) are independent, the return spring (35) is independent of the brake arms, and this spring incorporates laterally two devices (36, 37) for connection to the actuators (12, 13) belonging to the brake arms, and, in its central area, a loop (40) extending downward toward the support and whose lower base (41) rests against the upper surface of this support.

Ski brake

Interface device between a boot and a ski designed to modify the natural distribution of the ski on the snow along the line of a vertical thrust force which at least one part of the boot generates on the ski. The device comprises a vertically-mobile sensing device (11) which absorbs the vertical stresses from the boot, a rocker (16), and a transmission device (21) which transforms the vertical stresses of the boot into a forward-directed force of thrust. The transmission device (21) is connected to the base (25) in a zone raised off the upper ski surface. The transmission device (21) is connected to a transmission element (31) which travels longitudinally in relation to a stationary element (30), and a deformable means (38) blocks relative motion of the transmission element (31) in relation to the stationary element (30).

A safety binding apparatus and a method for positioning the binding upon a ski. The apparatus includes a longitudinal slide affixed to the ski and a body carrying a retention jaw for an end of a boot, an energization mechanism for biasing the jaw, the body being longitudinally slidably mounted on the slide. An assembly is provided for immobilizing the body of the binding on the slide in one or more different longitudinal positions to accommodate the particular shoe or boot to be mounted on the ski. The immobilization assembly includes a plurality of longitudinally aligned notches which respectively define the different longitudinal positions that the body of the binding can occupy on the slide and a latch having at least one projection which is elastically biased toward the notches for engagement of the projection in one of the notches, thus immobilizing the body of the binding on the slide in one of the longitudinal positions. The apparatus further includes at least one removable plug positioned within a respective one of the notches for increasing the ease of assembly and adjustment of the positioning of the body of the binding on the ski, since, according to the method of the invention, the projection of the latch can be simply moved to its selected final predetermined position, sliding over the plug or plugs positioned in the notches which correspond to other, non-selected positions.
