This disclosure provides a system for securing a bone to a rod, the system comprising a ligature, a body, and two fasteners. The ligature has two free ends and an intermediate portion therebetween, the intermediate portion being configured to engage a bone. A portion of a rod can be fastened to the body using one of the fasteners. The ligature can be fastened to the body using another one of the fasteners. The two fasteners are distinct from one another and are adapted to fasten two free end portions of the ligature to the body independently from fastening the portion of the rod to the body.

Bone fixing system

A device for fixing a rod to an osseous structure. The device is configured to receive the rod with the main axis oriented in a first direction. The device includes a main body, a first fastening member directly connected to the main body and accessible from an outer surface of the main body for fastening the rod to the main body, and a second fastening member, also directly connected to the main body, offset with respect to the first fastening member in said first direction, and separately accessible from an outer surface of the main body for fastening to the main body. A flexible elongate member is provided to attach the main body to the osseous structure. The first and second fastening members are arranged so that the flexible elongate member can be fastened adjacent to the rod.

Fixing device

Orthopedic devices including a connecting element suited for receiving at least part of a first rod, and a lock screw. The connecting element includes an anchor for securing the connecting element to a bone, in particular a vertebra, a first lateral opening, and a top opening with a first inner screw thread. The lock screw is received within the top opening and includes a proximal face presenting a screw drive, accessible from outside the connecting element, a distal end for locking the first rod within the connecting element, and wherein the lock screw is adapted to fit through the first lateral opening to be subsequently introduced into the top opening with the proximal face leading.

Orthopaedic device and methods for its pre-assembly and assembly

Embodiments disclosed herein provide a device for securing a ligature to an osseous structure, the device comprising a first part, a second part, a flexible elongate member for engaging the osseous structure, a closure element, and a deformable element between the first and second parts for holding open a gap G between them. The flexible elongate member is threaded through an orifice in the first part and the gap G. The closure element is configured for clamping the first and second parts against each other, overcoming the resilience of the deformable element, so as to frictionally lock the flexible elongate member threaded through the gap G. Embodiments disclosed herein also provide a method for using the device.

Device and method for securing a ligature to an osseous structure

A bone holding device comprising: at least one conformable elongated member having a first portion, a second portion and an intermediate portion therebetween; a rod with at least one transverse passage which opens into at least one of two opposite side faces of the rod, said passage being delimited by inner surfaces of the rod, and at least one compression member, the compression member and said inner surfaces both defining clamping surfaces and cooperating so that the first and second portions of the elongated member can be inserted and clamped between said clamping surfaces. A method using such a device.

Bone holding device

Anchor for attachment to a bony structure, comprising a hook, an anchor body with a distal wall facing the hook, and a fastening system for fastening a connection member to the anchor body. A slot is defined between the hook and the distal wall, for receiving a bony structure such as a vertebra portion. The anchor further comprises a retention member having a distal end with teeth, passing through the distal wall and being movable relative to the anchor body, from a retracted position to a protracted position where the distal end protrudes from the distal wall, inside the slot. The proximal end of the retention member defines a seat for the connection member.

Anchor for attachment to a bony structure

A device for fixing a bony structure to a support member. The device includes a main body with first and second members, the second member being movable in rotation with respect to the first member, around a first axis. A flexible member passes between the members and forms a loop around a bony structure. A clamping mechanism moves the first and second members into a clamping position. A support member and the flexible member are secured between the members in the clamping position. The first axis is movable in translation along a first direction and the second member is movable in translation along the first direction. The clamping mechanism cooperates with the first and second members to move the second member in translation in the first direction.

Device for fixing a bony structure to a support member

A tensioning tool and method for tensioning a conformable ligature of a bone fixing system are disclosed. The ends of a conformable ligature can be passed around bones, bone grafts, tendons, plates, rods, fasteners, or other anatomical or implanted structures, and the like to form a loop. Another portion of the conformable ligature can be coupled to a tensioning tool. The tensioning tool can include a first portion and a second portion in threaded engagement with each other. Rotation of one portion relative to the other can cause tensioning of the conformable ligature through translation of a tensioning member.

Bone fixation tensioning tool and method

A bone anchor including a first fastening system for fastening a support member to the anchor, and a second fastening system for fastening the anchor to a bone. The second fastening system includes first and second clamping jaws defining between them a slot for receiving a bony part of the bone. The second jaw is movable relative to the first jaw so as to clamp the bony part between the first and second jaws. A locking mechanism is provided for maintaining the second jaw in a fixed clamping position with respect to the first jaw.
