Methods and systems are provided for analyzing and assessing documents using a writing profile for documents, such as a payment instrument. A method may include providing a document to a computer system. In an embodiment, the method may further include comparing writing in one or more non-signature information fields of the document to at least one forger writing profile representation. In some embodiments, at least one forger writing profile representation may be obtained from at least one non-signature information field of at least one document that includes forged information. In an embodiment, the document may be identified as a document including forged information from an approximate match of at least one forger writing profile representation with writing in the document.

Systems and methods for identifying a document with forged information in non-signature information fields

Methods and systems are provided for analyzing and assessing documents using a writing profile for documents, such as a payment instrument. A method may include providing a document to a computer system. In an embodiment, the method may further include comparing writing in information fields of the document to at least one forger writing profile representation. In some embodiments, at least one forger writing profile representation may be obtained from at least one information field of at least one document that includes forged information. In an embodiment, the document may be identified as a document including forged information from an approximate match of at least one forger writing profile representation with writing in the document.

In one embodiment, the profile may include variable machine-printed writing. In other embodiments, the profile may include pre-printed information. A method may include providing a document to a computer system. In one embodiment, profile representations may be determined for information fields of the document. The determination may use variable machine-printed writing and/or pre-printed information from at least one of the information fields of the documents. In one embodiment, the method may further include comparing machine-printed writing and/or pre-printed information in information fields of the document to at least profile representation from at least one information field of at least one other document. In some embodiments, the method may include assessing fraud in the document using at least one of the comparisons.

A system and method that allows a business or financial institution accepting negotiable documents such as checks as payments or receiving such documents in deposits to determine whether those documents are valid by comparing a set of document and maker characteristics extracted from an image of the document to the document and maker characteristics for valid documents stored in a profile. These characteristics are contained in a public document validation profile. The public document validation profile does not require the distribution of information subject to privacy laws and regulations and does not expose information of potential use to fraud perpetrators.

A method may include providing one or more documents to a computer system. In one embodiment, handwriting profile representations may be determined for information fields of the document. The determination may use handwriting from at least one of the information fields of the documents. In some embodiments, handwriting profile representations may be updated from one or more additional documents. In certain embodiments, a document may be provided to a computer system for assessment. Assessment may include comparing handwriting in the information fields of the document to handwriting profile representations from information fields of at least one other document. In an embodiment, the method may include assessing fraud in the document using at least one of the comparisons.
