In a method for producing devices such as branch connections or similar on flexible tubes or pipes, particularly those with a rubber base, a rigid core is placed inside said tube or pipe intended to support it and a branch connection or similar is molded in situ on the tube or pipe by injection of plastic material of thermoplastic or thermosetting type, the branch connection grips round said tube or pipe on the external face thereof and is adhered thereto by the very effect of molding.

A rapid connection fluid coupling is disclosed, for connecting a first end piece, to which a cooling liquid flow duct or pipe of a motor vehicle engine is fixed, to a second end piece of a testing circuit, heater unit or other vehicle element. The first end piece has a perforator for a closure positioned in the end piece prior to filling the engine with the cooling liquid. The closure comprises a seal with a membrane made from an elastomer material, such as rubber or other similar material, having the general form of a cup with a bottom having weaker zones for tearing the cup after perforation at its center. The zones are formed as a star with radiating arms whose ends are on a circle which defines an annular zone with the periphery. The free end of the lateral wall of the membrane is molded on a frame with an L shaped half cross section and has at least one and preferably two peripheral lips oriented from the end towards the bottom while diverging with respect to the lateral wall. When the two end pieces are interconnected, the second end piece drives the closure into engagement with the perforator to perforate the closure and allow fluid flow through the end pieces.

A rapid connection fluid coupling includes first and second end pieces. The first end piece is adapted for fitting to a duct or the like such as in the cooling liquid circuit of a motor vehicle engine. The first end piece includes a closure or seal coaxially positioned therein for sealing the flow path through the first end piece when the second piece is not connected thereto. A perforator is supported by the first end piece and positioned in the fluid passageway of the first end piece for perforating the closure when the second end piece is interconnected to the first end piece.

An assembly device for a heat exchanger and tubular connector assembly, in which the tubular connector opens out into an opening in a tank of the heat exchanger and is fixed firstly to a flexible hose by a permanent connection and secondly to the tank via an easily disassembled resilient connection, with sealing between the tubular connector and the tank being provided by an elastomer ring which is radially compressed therebetween. The tubular connector and the tank are in alignment along an assembly axis and they constitute two parts to be assembled by snap fastening at least one axially-directed tab carried on one of the two parts. The tab is radially resilient and is provided with a snap-fastening catch which engages axial abutment means carried by the other one of the two parts. The tab has an expansion spring configuration whose resilient reaction acts radially in the direction tending to maintain the tab pressed against the abutment means when the said two parts are in the assembled position. The spring-forming tab is in the form of a leaf spring comprising at least a first branch and a second branch substantially parallel to each other and to the assembly axis, with the first branch projecting from one of the two parts in the assembly direction while the second branch projects from the axially inner end of the first branch in the opposite direction to the assembly direction, such that the spring-forming tab is generally U-shaped, with the catch projecting radially outwards from the second branch of the tab.

The invention relates to the manufacture, by molding, of a joining and connecting block between main ducts made from elastomer material and branch ducts which are connected thereto. The block may be molded in a single piece in two mold parts assembled together along a joining surface in the form of a Z.

The fluid tank is divided by a planar partition (3) into a fluid inlet compartment and a fluid outlet compartment. The leading end of the pipe union (7) has a neck (6) which is divided into a plurality of axial fingers (11) which are resilient in a radial direction and which carry snap-fastening catches (8). The catches (8) are circumferentially spaced apart and they alternate with cylindrical portions of the pipe union. The inside surface of the tube (4) has two sets of axially extending grooves (12, 13). The first set of grooves (12) are catch-receiving grooves for engaging the catches (8) when the union (7) is thrust axially into the tube (4). The second set of grooves (13) are catch-releasing grooves, and the union may be released from the tube by rotating it to bring the catches into alignment with the catch-releasing grooves and then withdrawing it axially. The invention is appliable to providing fast-action releasable connectors for use in the auotmobile industry.

A connection system for interconnecting a heat exchanger and a pipe union, in which the pipe union (1) opening out into an opening (6) of the water box (2) of the heat exchanger is fixed firstly to a flexible pipe in permanent manner and secondly to the water box (2) by an easily released resilient connection. First axially projecting guide means (3) fixed to the pipe union (1) slide over second guide means (4) fixed to the inside surface of the water box (2), with said first and second means being configured to co-operate with each other. The invention is applicabhle to providing rapid action connections in the automobile industry.

A connection system for interconnecting a heat exchanger and a pipe union, in which the pipe union (5) opens out into a connection tube (4) of a heat exchanger water box (3), with the pipe union being fixed to a flexible pipe (6) via a permanent connection and being fixed to the connection tube via an easily-released resilient connection. The resilient connection is constituted by a locking device comprising two diametrically opposite fingers (19) carried by a ring (18) fixed inside the water box (3) and disposed coaxially with the connection tube (4). The fingers (19) slope towards the axis of the connection tube and they are resilient in the radial direction, with two notches (22) being provided in the leading end (7) of the pipe union (5) in order to receive the locking resilient fingers (19) by snap-fastening when the pipe union (5) is engaged in the connection tube (4). The invention is applicable to providing rapid connections in the automobile industry.
