Disclosed is a railway braking system including a service brake supplied by a first source, a parking brake having a device for immobilizing the service brake and a mobile control device for mobile control of the immobilizing device, and a command and control unit configured to receive information indicative of a value of the first source, process information indicative of a parking brake setpoint so as to actuate the control device, and determine a value of a second source according to the setpoint and to the information indicative of a value of the first source, so as to supply a pressure chamber of the service brake.

Rail vehicle braking system and braking method for a rail vehicle comprising such a system

A rail vehicle braking system includes a service brake () having a movable piston () delimiting with a body () of the system a service brake chamber () supplied by a first source, and a parking brake () having a blocking device () having a position in which it immobilizes the piston in a position, and a movable actuating device () delimiting with the body a parking brake chamber () supplied by a second source and having a stable position in which it holds the blocking device in its position; the service chamber, when the actuating device is in its stable position, being supplied by the second source of which the pressure is greater than that of the first source in order to apply a greater braking force than the force applied when the piston is in its position.
