A vehicle has a windshield and a hood extending away from the lower edge of the windshield. A modular windshield washing and wiping apparatus, disposed adjacent to the lower edge of the windshield, comprises at least two modules, arranged to be assembled together and to the remainder of the vehicle. One of the modules contains a screen washing liquid so as to act as a reservoir for the latter, while another module carries the screen wiping equipment. The apparatus includes at least one further liquid reservoir, comprised in one of the modules.

A vehicle has a windshield and a hood extending away from the lower edge of the windshield. A modular windshield washing and wiping apparatus, disposed adjacent to the lower edge of the windshield, comprises at least two modules, arranged to be assembled together and to the remainder of the vehicle. The invention proposes a windscreen wiper of the type comprising a rotating motor shaft (12) and a driving head (10) on which a windscreen wiper arm is articulated, and of the type comprising coupling means between the driving head (10) and the free end (28) of the motor shaft (12), which is mounted in a seat (22, 24) formed in the driving head (10), which comprise rotational coupling means by cooperation of shapes (42) and axial clamping means (38) comprising a unit of the screw-nut type, characterized in that the rotational coupling means by cooperation of shapes comprise a series of teeth (42) associated with the motor shaft (12), angularly distributed in a regular manner around the axis (X--X) of the motor shaft (12) and angularly spaced in relation to one another and which cooperate with an associated bearing surface (23) formed in the driving head (10).

The invention proposes a windscreen wiper device for a motor vehicle of the type having a windscreen wiper arm (10), one end of which is mounted so as to be articulated about an articulation axis (A1), between a service position and a raised position, on a drive head (12) mounted on a shaft (14) for driving in rotation about an axis (A0) substantially perpendicular to the articulation axis (A1), of the type in which a free end section of the arm (10) carries rotatably a windscreen wiper blade (11), and of the type having a shroud (30) at least partially covering the longitudinal body of the windscreen wiper arm (10), characterised in that the covering shroud (30) encloses the free end section (40) of the arm (10) and in that the windscreen wiper blade (11) is rotatably mounted on the covering shroud (30).

The invention proposes a windscreen wiper device of the type comprising a rotating motor shaft (12) and a driving head (10) on which a windscreen wiper arm is articulated, and of the type comprising coupling means between the driving head (10) and the free end (28) of the motor shaft (12) which is mounted in a seat (22, 24) formed in the driving head (10), which comprise rotational coupling means by cooperation of shapes (42) and axial clamping means (38, 56) comprising a unit of the screw-nut type, characterised in that the seat (22) comprises a radial stop surface (23) which cooperates with a radial bearing surface (36) of the motor shaft (12) in order to define a precise axial position of the driving head (10) in relation to the motor shaft (12).

A modular apparatus, for washing and wiping a windshield of a vehicle which has a hood extending downwardly away from the lower edge of the windshield, comprises at least two modules to be assembled together and to the rest of the vehicle. One of the modules is arranged to contain a screen washing liquid, and defines a reservoir for the latter, while the other module includes a windshield wiper.

A windshield wiper assembly comprises a drive mechanism for at least one windshield wiper arm, together with a reservoir for a windshield washing liquid. The drive mechanism comprises a support structure, on which are mounted a motor and a linkage for transmission of motion between a spindle driven by the motor and at least one windshield wiper arm. The support structure is arranged to be secured on to the body of a vehicle, in particular an automotive vehicle. Pumping means are provided to project washing liquid from the reservoir on to the glass being wiped. The reservoir is so designed as to be accommodated substantially within the space envelope defined by the drive mechanism, and it is rigidly secured to the support structure of this mechanism so as to form an assembly therewith.

A windshield wiper assembly, especially though not exclusively for a motor vehicle, includes a shroud extending at right angles to a windshield wiper motor axis. A wiper arm is coupled to the axis and is articulated to the shroud. The assembly includes an armature and a wiping strip depending from the armature. The armature includes a plurality of members which are articulated together through pivots, and some of these members constitute part of the shroud over part of their length, such that the armature is part of the enclosing shroud. Yokes which distribute the applied pressure to the wiping strip are themselves pivoted to the armature and supported from the same pivots.
