A tissue containment device () for isolating tissue from surrounding tissue during a surgical procedure to remove the tissue includes a bag () formed by one or more walls () defining a containment compartment () and an opening () for accessing the containment compartment. Each wall () is formed from at least two layers including an inner layer () facing the containment compartment and an outer layer () facing outwards from bag (). The layers define between them one or more inflatable volumes (). Layers () and () are interconnected at spaced-apart connection regions () that are arranged such that, when a fluid is introduced into the inflatable volumes (), regions of the at least two layers between the connection regions form wall cavity regions surrounding an internal volume of the containment compartment.

Tissue containment device for use in surgical procedures

Apparatus and methods are provided, including a bladder stimulator that includes an elongate element adapted to pass through a urethra or adapted to pass through another opening in the bladder, an expandable body coupled to said elongate element, and an array of one or more stimulator contacts coupled to the expandable body, the array including at least one contact adapted to contact a portion of a bladder of a subject when the expandable body is inserted in the bladder and expanded. A controller stimulates the portion of the bladder by driving a pulse into the bladder via the contact, the pulse having a frequency of 5 Hz-1 kHz. Other applications are also described.

Stimulation of the urinary system

Apparatus and methods are described including identifying a subject as suffering from an impaired body system, the body system being selected from the group consisting of: a cardiovascular system and a renal system. In response thereto, a structure is inserted inside a bladder of the subject, and the bladder is mechanically stimulated with the structure. Other applications are also described.
