A pump device includes a rotary motor, a compartment for insertion of a disposable pump part, and one or more pulsation-reduction elements. The disposable pump part includes an input port, an output port, and a dual-action reciprocating assembly. The input port is configured for intaking fluid. The output port is configured for outputting the fluid. The dual-action reciprocating assembly is configured for pumping the fluid. The assembly includes a single piston and a rod configured to be coupled to the rotary motor, so as to drive the piston. The one or more pulsation-reduction elements are configured to reduce a pulsation in the outputted fluid, caused by the single-piston dual-action reciprocating assembly.

A method includes receiving a plurality of data points including electrophysiological (EP) values measured at respective positions in at least a portion of an organ of a patient. Some of the EP values are classified as outlier values in accordance with a defined criterion. A visual representation of at least the portion of the organ is derived from the plurality of data points. The visual representation represents the EP values with respective colors, and visualizes less than all the outlier values, by performing one or both of (a) identifying outlier values that deviate from respective neighboring EP values by less than a defined deviation, and representing the outlier values using colors that match the neighboring EP values, and (b) setting for the visual representation a mapping, which maps the EP values to the colors and which excludes at least some of the outlier values.

A pump includes a cylinder, a piston and a controller. The cylinder has first and second ends and includes first and second inlet-outlet ports, each of the first and second inlet-outlet ports is configured to alternately intake a fluid to the cylinder and output the fluid from the cylinder. The piston is configured to be moved within the cylinder between the first and second ends by alternately reversing a direction of movement of the piston, so as to pump the fluid through the first and second inlet-outlet ports. The controller is configured to control the movement of the piston within the cylinder, including: (a) choosing between first and second operational modes, (b) in the first operational mode, controlling the piston to oscillate over a predefined interval that does not exceed a predefined distance from the first end or from the second end, and (c) in the second operational mode, controlling the piston to move at a selected speed between the first end and the second end.

Described embodiments include a system that includes a radiofrequency-current (RF-current) generator and a processor. The processor is configured to cause the RF-current generator to generate a plurality of pulses of RF current for application to tissue of a subject, each of the pulses having a power whose maximum value is greater than 80 W and a duration that is less than 10 s, and an intermission between successive ones of the pulses being less than 10 s. The processor is further configured to, while each one of the pulses is applied to the tissue, receive at least one signal that indicates a measured temperature of the tissue, and, in response to the measured temperature, control the power of the pulse. Other embodiments are also described.

Temperature-controlled pulsed RF ablation

A medical probe includes a shaft, a camera, a hollow cutting tool, and an inflatable balloon. The shaft is configured for insertion through a cut in a body of a patient, whereas the shaft includes a working vacuum channel running therethrough. The camera is fitted at a distal end of the shaft and is configured to provide images of a target tissue site in the body. The hollow cutting tool is for insertion over a guidewire in the working vacuum channel of the shaft, whereas the hollow cutting tool is configured to pierce the target tissue site under guidance of images taken by the camera. The inflatable balloon is configured to stabilize the distal end of the shaft, whereas the inflatable balloon is located proximally to the camera so as not to obstruct the images of the target tissue site.

A disposable single-piston dual-action reciprocating pump part includes a single piston, an output port, and a balloon damper. The output port is configured for outputting fluid pumped by the single piston. The balloon damper is fitted in the output port, and the balloon damper is configured to suppress a pulsation in a flow rate of the outputted fluid.

A medical tool includes a rotatable hollow tube and one or more electrical wires. The rotatable hollow tube is defining a working channel therein for insertion of a medical instrument into a cavity of a patient body. The one or more electrical wires traverse the working channel for exchanging electrical signals with one or more electronic devices located at a distal end of the rotatable hollow tube. The working channel has a non-circular cross section for passing both the medical instrument and the one or more electrical wires, and for allowing rotation of the rotatable hollow tube relative to the medical instrument located inside the working channel in the presence of the one or more electrical wires.

A medical apparatus includes a trocar, a control handle, a first electrical wire, and a second electrical wire. The trocar is used for insertion into an organ of a patient, and includes (i) a cannula having a longitudinal axis, (ii) a position sensor that is fitted inside the cannula, and (iii) a camera that is coupled to a movable element, which is fitted inside the cannula and configured to be moved along the longitudinal axis for moving the camera along the cannula. The control handle is coupled to a proximal end of the movable element and is configured to move the movable element and the camera. The first electrical wire is coupled between the control handle and the camera. The second electrical wire is coupled between the control handle and the position sensor, and has a slack configured to compensate for a motion of the camera.

Methods, apparatus, and systems for medical procedures are disclosed herein and include applying an ablation electrode of a catheter to a surface of a tissue area, providing a first energy to the ablation electrode applied on the surface of the tissue area to ablate the tissue area, inserting a catheter needle of the catheter to a first distance into the tissue area, through the surface of the tissue area, depositing, via the catheter needle, a first radioactive seed at the first distance, and damaging a second portion of the tissue area based on depositing the first radioactive seed at the first distance.
