A cyclonic separator comprising a ring of cyclone bodies and an outlet duct through which cleansed fluid is discharged from the cyclonic separator, wherein the outlet duct extends between two adjacent cyclone bodies.

Cyclonic separator

A cleaning appliance of the canister type includes separating apparatus for separating dirt from a dirt-bearing fluid flow, a floor engaging rolling assembly comprising a system for drawing the fluid flow through the separating apparatus, a chassis connected to the rolling assembly and including at least one floor engaging support member, and a duct for conveying the fluid flow to the separating apparatus. At least part of the duct is connected to the chassis for pivoting movement relative to the chassis. A biasing arrangement is provided for engaging the duct to urge the pivoting part of the duct towards a rest position relative to the chassis.

Cleaning appliance

A dirt separator for a vacuum cleaner that comprises an inlet through which fluid enters the separator, and an outlet through which fluid exits the separator. The separator further comprises a filter assembly located downstream of the inlet and upstream of the outlet, an opening through which the filter assembly may be removed from the separator, and a hatch moveable between an open position in which the opening is uncovered and a closed position in which the opening is partially covered. When the filter assembly is removed from the separator and the hatch is in the closed position, a bleed is created around at least part of the hatch through which fluid enters the separator in preference to the inlet. When the filter assembly is located in the separator and the hatch is in the closed position, the filter assembly seals against the hatch to close the bleed.

Dirt separator for a vacuum cleaner

A canister vacuum cleaner that includes a main body to which a hose is attached. The main body includes a chassis, a dirt separator carried by the chassis, and an inlet assembly for carrying fluid from the hose to the dirt separator. The dirt separator includes an inlet located in a base of the dirt separator. The inlet assembly includes a spigot fixed to the chassis and a hose coupling rotatably attached to the spigot. The hose is then attached to the hose coupling, and the spigot projects into the inlet such that the spigot both supports and carries fluid to the dirt separator.

Canister vacuum cleaner

A canister vacuum cleaner comprising a main body, a hose, and a coupling for attaching the hose to the main body. The coupling includes a first part attached to the main body and a second part attached to the hose. Each part has a duct through which fluid is carried from the hose to the main body. The second part is attachable to the first part by sliding the second part relative to the first part along a sliding axis. When the second part is attached to the first part, the two ducts seal in a sealing plane that is non-orthogonal relative to the sliding axis.
