New substituted 2,2-dimethyl-.omega.-phenoxyalkanoic acids and esters of formula: ##STR1## wherein: X, A, B, R, R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4, R.sub.5, R.sub.6, R.sub.7 and Z are as defined in the specification, The corresponding enantiomers and diastereoisomers, and the physiologically tolerable salts thereof with appropriate bases. The products of the invention may be used therapeutically.

Substituted 2,2-dimethyl-omega-phenoxyalkanoic acids and esters

The invention provides new compounds pertaining to the class of: aryl methoxy phenyl alkyl heterocyclic spiro compounds, enantiomers, diastereoisomers and physiologically-tolerable salts thereof. For example: 8-{2-�3-quinol-2-yl methoxy)phenyl!ethyl}-3,8-diaza-1-oxa-2-oxo spiro�4,5!decane is described. Medicinal products containing the same are useful in the treatment of any pathology involving modifications of leukotriene metabolism.

Heterocyclic spiro compounds

New substituted phenoxyisobutyric acids and esters that can be used as medicaments and correspond to the formula: ##STR1## wherein X, A, R, R.sub.1, R.sub.2, R.sub.3, R.sub.4, R.sub.5, R.sub.6, R.sub.7 and Z are as defined in the description. Those compounds and their physiologically tolerable salts can be used therapeutically.

Bicyclic pyrimidines

The compounds are 5-(4-substituted benzyl)thiazolidine-2,4-diones, enantiomers, diastereoisomers and pharmaceutically tolerable salts thereof, useful for treating conditions of insulin-resistance and/or non insulin-dependent diabetes. A compound disclosed is: .(R,S)-5-{4-[2-benzofuran-2-yl)carbonylamino)ethyl]benzyl}thiazolidine-2,4 -dione.

Thiazolidinedione compounds

The compounds are 5-(4-substituted benzyl)thiazolidine-2,4-diones, enantiomers, diastereoisomers and pharmaceutically tolerable salts thereof, useful for treating conditions of insulin-resistance and/or non insulin-dependent diabetes. A compound disclosed is: 5-{4-[2-(2-methoxy-5-chlorobenzamido)ethyl]benzyl}thiazolidine-2,4-dione.

Thazolidinedione compounds

The compounds are substituted trimetazidine useful for the treatment of ischaemic pathologies and peripheral vascular pathology. A compound disclosed is 4-(2,3,4-trimethoxybenzyl)-1-[3-(4-hydroxy-2,3,5-trimethylphenoxy)propyl]p iperazine.

Trimetazidine compounds

The compounds are trisubstituted triazines and pyrimidines useful for the suppressing the resistance of tumour cells to anti-cancer agents and for suppressing the resistance of parasites to anti-parasitic agents. A compound disclosed is 2,4-diallylamino-6-{4-[(10,11-dihydro-5H-dibenzo[a,d]cyclohepten-5-yl) methylamino]piperidin-1-yl}-1,3,5-triazine.

Trisubstituted triazines

The compounds are 2,4-(optionally substituted amino)-6-substituted s.triazines, useful for suppressing the resistance of tumour cells to anti-cancer agents and for suppressing the resistance of parasites to anti-parasitic agents. A compound disclosed is 1-[4,6-bis(allylamino)-2-s-triazinyl]-4-[2,2-bis(p.fluorophenyl)ethylamino ]piperidine.

A compound disclosed is (R,S)-8-[3(3,5-di-tert.-butyl-4-hydroxyphenylthio)-2-hydroxypropyl]-1-oxa- 2oxo-3,8-diazaspiro [4.5]decane.

1,3,7-trimethyl-8-[3-(4-diethylaminocarbonyl-piperazino) propyl] xanthine and physiologically tolerable acid addition salts thereof may be used for the preparation of medicaments for the treatment of memory disorders, intellectual disorders of ageing, and Alzheimer's disease.

Pharmaceutical compositions and a method for the treatment of memory

Piperidine compounds

New morpholine compounds of the formula: ##STR1## in which: X, bonded to the aromatic nucleus, represents halogen or trifluoromethyl and R' represents hydrogen, (C.sub.1 -C.sub.5)alkyl optionally including a double bond, or aralkyl; in racemic and enantiomeric forms, and physiologically tolerable acid addition salts theroef. These compounds and their physiologically tolerable salts can be used therapeutically especially in the treatment of ischaemic syndromes and cerebral ageing.
