Amidoximes of the formula ##STR1## are disclosed. R represents a hydrogen atom on a lower alkyl (C.sub.1 -C.sub.4) or phenyl; R.sub.1 represents lower alkyl or a metal atom and Ar represents substituted or unsubstituted phenyl or a five-membered substituted or unsubstituted aromatic heterocyclic group where the hetero atom is selected from the group O, S and N. The compounds have phytohormonal activity at low dosages in plants and herbicidal activity at higher levels.

Herbicidal and phytohormonal amidoximes

Amidoximes of the formula ##STR1## are disclosed. R represents a hydrogen atom or a hydrogen, lower alkyl (C.sub.1 -C.sub.4) or phenyl; R.sub.1 represents lower alkyl or a metal atom and Ar represents substituted or unsubstituted phenyl or a five-membered substituted or unsubstituted aromatic heterocyclic group where the hetero atom is selected from the group O, S and N. The compounds have phytohormonal activity at low dosages in plants and herbicidal activity at higher levels.

1--Amidoxime derivatives. The amidoximes correspond to the formula: ##STR1## in which: R represents a hydrogen atom or an alkyl radical containing from 1 to 4 carbon atoms and A represents a cyano group or a radical of the general formula: ##STR2## in which R.sub.1 and R.sub.2, which are identical or different, each represent a hydrogen atom, an alkyl radical containing from 1 to 4 carbon atoms, an optionally substituted phenyl radical or an amino radical which is itself optionally substituted. These compounds can be used in agriculture as phytohormones and herbicides.

Herbicidal and/or phyto-hormonal compositions containing 1,2,4-oxadiazin-5-one of the formula ##STR1## WHERE R represents H, alkyl or phenyl and Ar represents substituted phenyl or a 5 membered aromatic heterocyclic radical with O, S or N as the hetero-atom and optionally substituted are described.

Herbicidal 1,2,4-oxadiazin-5-one compositions

Indolizino[7,6,5-de]isoquinoline derivatives of the general formula: ##STR1## wherein the symbol R.sub.1 represents a hydrogen atom, the symbol R.sub.2 represents a hydrogen atom, an amino radical, or a straight- or branched-chain alkyl radical which is optionally substituted on a terminal carbon atom by a vinyl, ethynyl, carboxy, alkoxycarbonyl, cyano, dialkoxymethyl, hydroxymethyl, dialkylaminomethyl (the alkyl radicals of which may form with the nitrogen atom to which they are attached a saturated five- or six-membered heterocyclic ring which may contain another hetero-atom selected from nitrogen, oxygen and sulphur, and -- when a second nitrogen atom is present -- may optionally be N-methylated) or trialkylammoniomethyl radical, or R.sub.2 represents a straight- chain alkyl radical which is substituted on the terminal carbon atom by an aminomethyl, alkylaminomethyl or hydroxyalkylaminomethyl radical, and the symbols R.sub.3 and R.sub.4 together form a valence bond, or the symbols R.sub.1 and R.sub.4 together form a valence bond and the symbols R.sub.2 and R.sub.3 together form a grouping of the general formula: ##STR2## wherein the group --OR.sub.5, which represents an alkoxy radical, is attached to the carbon atom situated in the .alpha.-position to the nitrogen atom carrying R.sub.3, the alkyl and alkoxy radicals, or moieties of groups, within the definition of symbols R.sub.2 and R.sub.5 containing from 1 to 4 carbon atoms and their salts are active as antimicrobial agents and antifungal agents, and are suitable for use as local antiseptics.

Derivatives of 10-nitro-7-oxo-7H-indolizino[7,6,5-de]isoquinoline

A new derivative of 7H-indolizino (7,6,5-de)-isoquinoline of the formula ##STR1## is useful as a bactericide against fire blight.

Agricultural composition incorporating derivatives of 7H-indolizino

Compounds of the formula: ##SPC1## Wherein R represents hydrogen, halogen or alkoxy of 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and R.sub.1 represents hydrogen, alkyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms substituted by (i) carboxy, (ii) alkoxycarbonyl in which the alkoxy moiety contains 1 to 7 carbon atoms, or (iii) carbamoyl, or R.sub.1 represents phenylalkyl in which the alkyl moiety contains 1 to 4 carbon atoms and is substituted by (i) carboxy, (ii) alkoxycarbonyl in which the alkoxy moiety contains 1 to 4 carbon atoms, or (iii) carbamoyl, or R.sub.1 represents alkanoyl of 1 to 4 carbon atoms or benzoyl, are new compounds possessing chemotherapeutic properties and are particularly active as antibilharzial, anthelmintic and antimicrobial agents.
