Methods and apparatus to operate a gas turbine engine with hydrogen gas are disclosed. An example combustor nozzle apparatus of a gas turbine engine includes injecting an other combustible gas into a combustor, comparing a power output of the gas turbine to a rated power threshold, and in response to the power output of the gas turbine satisfying the rated power threshold: injecting water into the combustor, injecting hydrogen into the combustor, and terminating injections of the other combustible gas.

Methods and apparatus to operate a gas turbine engine with hydrogen gas are disclosed. An example combustor nozzle apparatus of a gas turbine engine includes a first circuit to transport a blend of hydrogen gas, inert gas, and/or other combustible gas from a supply to a gas turbine combustor, the blend of hydrogen gas, inert gas, and/or other combustible gas including between 100% hydrogen gas, 100% inert gas, or 100% other combustible gas, a second circuit to transport water from the supply to the gas turbine combustor, and a nozzle tip. The nozzle tip includes a first outlet in connection with the second circuit to provide the water to the gas turbine combustor, and a second outlet in connection with the first circuit, the second outlet concentrically positioned within the first outlet to provide the blend of hydrogen gas, inert gas, and/or other combustible gas to the gas turbine combustor.

A method for supplying power to a remote load includes coupling a gas turbine engine to a vessel that is not used to provide propulsion for the vessel, coupling a generator to the gas turbine engine, coupling an intercooler system downstream from a first compressor such that compressed air discharged from the first compressor is channeled therethrough, the intercooler system includes an intercooler and a first heat exchanger, channeling a first working fluid through the intercooler to facilitate reducing an operating temperature of air discharged from the intercooler to a second compressor, channeling a second working fluid flowing through the first heat exchanger to extract energy from the first working fluid to facilitate reducing an operating temperature of the first working fluid, and operating the gas turbine engine and generator to supply power to a load that is located remotely from the vessel.

A bearing temperature rise can be predicted based on the measured parameters. The predicted rise value is compared with the actual rise value to generate a comparison value. A fuel delivery system for fuel nozzle staging includes a gas circuit and a fuel circuit. Each circuit includes a first manifold and a second manifold. The fuel delivery system delivers a first gas and a first fuel to a gas turbine engine during initial operation through the first manifold connected within each respective gas circuit. As the gas turbine engine reaches a predetermined operational speed, staging valves permit the fuel delivery system to also deliver the first gas and the first fuel to the gas turbine engine through the second manifold of each respective gas circuit.

A fuel delivery system and method for operating a dual fuel and steam turbine engine that utilizes gas fuel at the engine start phase through a combination of gas and liquid fuel circuits. Gas fuel initially flows through the liquid fuel circuits to a dual fuel and steam nozzle. A boiler connected to the system generates steam, and the steam is supplied to the nozzle to raise the fuel pressure to an acceptable range. The gas fuel is injected into both the liquid and gas fuel circuits and the engine can then operate on either gas or liquid fuel, or any combination thereof.

Fuel delivery systems and method

A combustor dome assembly having a venturi and an auxiliary wall concentric with the venturi to provide an annular passage for channeling or directing a high velocity air jet from a swirler to a combustion chamber associated with a downstream end of the venturi, thereby facilitating the atomization of a film of water flowing along an inner surface of the venturi and out of the downstream end. In an alternative embodiment, a deflector is used (instead of the auxiliary wall) to direct the air flow towards the downstream end. The downstream end of the venturi may have a curved edge to permit the film of water flowing along an inner surface of the venturi to turn substantially perpendicular to the air flowing past the downstream end of the venturi which further enhances atomization of water. The venturi may also comprise a flange which is positioned in operative relationship with the downstream end for increasing the turbulence at the downstream end. In another embodiment, a plurality of holes are provided in the venturi for permitting natural gas to pass through the venturi and into the annular passage where it can be premixed with swirling air before being introduced to the combustion chamber.
