According to exemplary inventive practice, a transaction code is selected in an ERP system. The transaction code is characterized by cost elements that to a substantial degree entail OM&S costs. ERP reports are generated by drilling down from the cost elements to commitment costs, obligation costs, and actual costs, wherein drilling down from each cost element yields at least one of these three kinds of costs. Raw worksheets are generated in a spreadsheet program by importing data from the ERP reports, wherein each raw worksheet contains data from at least one ERP report. Data are derived from the raw worksheets and are combined and arranged to produce intermediate pivot tables, wherein each intermediate pivot table contains data from at least on raw worksheet. Data are derived from the intermediate pivot tables and are combined and arranged to produce a master worksheet. Data are derived from the master worksheet and are combined and arranged to produce summary pivot tables.

Method for generating a balance sheet that includes operating materials and supplies costs

According to exemplary inventive embodiments, a computer spreadsheet program (e.g., Excel) is used to devise a balance sheet template and to import a financial report. The balance sheet template is a tabular presentation having headings designating network numbers, activity numbers, and various types of financial data. Network and activity numbers are enumerated on the balance sheet template, each network number being sub-categorized into one or more activity numbers. The balance sheet template is designed for entry, in blank spaces, of the designated types of financial data corresponding to pairings of enumerated network and activity numbers. A data-filtering macro (e.g., programmed in Visual Basic for Applications) identifies in the financial report, and inserts into the balance sheet template, every item of financial data that is pertinent to both (i) a designated type of financial data and (ii) a pairing of enumerated network and activity numbers.

A composite armor including a ballistic armor layer and a directly attached polyurea layer. The polyurea layer is the cured reaction product of an isocyanate curing agent and a mixture of diamines having the general formula:HN-Ph-(C&#x2550;O)&#x2014;O&#x2014;(CH&#x2014;CH&#x2014;CH&#x2014;CH&#x2014;O)&#x2014;(C&#x2550;O)-Ph-NH,wherein in the mixture n in the ranges from 3 to 14 and the weight average value of n is about 9 to 10. Ph represents phenyl. In a preferred embodiment, the polyurea layer is the strike face. The composite armor is useful for light armor applications in which weight is a factor such as military vehicle armor and military boat armor.

Polyurea composite armor

The present invention's stratified composite material system of armor, as typically embodied, comprises a strike stratum and a backing stratum. The strike stratum includes elastomeric matrix material and inventive ceramic-inclusive elements embedded therein and arranged (e.g., in one or more rows and one or more columns) along a geometric plane corresponding to the front (initial strike) surface of the strike stratum. More rigid than the strike stratum, the backing stratum is constituted by, e.g., metallic (metal or metal alloy) material or fiber-reinforced polymeric matrix material. Some inventive embodiments also comprise a spall-containment stratum fronting the strike stratum. The inventive ceramic-inclusive elements geometrically describe any of various inventive modes, including: first mode, having a flat front face and a textured back face; second mode, having a pyramidal front section and a prismatoidal (especially, prismoidal, e.g., truncated pyramidal or prismatic) body section; hybrid mode, combining features of first and second modes.

A series of polymeric compositions, methods of making the compositions and uses of the compositions are described. An exemplary composition is made by copolymerization of a trifunctional amine or hydroxy compound, a monofunctional amine or hydroxy compound and a polyisocyanate compound.

A shock resistant dielectric material comprising TiO.sub.2 particles disped in a matrix material which is (1) the polyurea reaction product of a poly(tetramethylene ether)glycol-di-p-aminobenzoate prepolymer and an aromatic diisocyanate or (2) a blend of the polyurea reaction product and a cyanate ester homopolymer of bis(4-cyanatophenyl)-1,1-ethane.

A plurality of elongated test specimens undergo vibrations induced by ran noise within an acoustical frequency range establishing standing waves therein having resonant frequencies at which the collection of measurement data through accelerometers mounted at the ends of the specimens provides for calculation of physical material properties. The processing of the data during collection, analysis and calculation is automated by programmed computer control.

Material characterizing system

A fast and reliable method is disclosed for measuring the dynamic mechanical properties of a material, particularly its modulus of elasticity and loss factor. By this method the acoustic characteristics of a material can be determined. An elongate strip of material, whose properties are desired to be known, is provided with miniature accelerometers fixedly secured to its opposite ends. One end of the strip is excited by a random noise source which travels toward the other end where that end and accelerometer is allowed to move freely (unrestrained). The accelerometers measures the ratios of acceleration at two locations over an extended frequency range of 0.2 Hz to 25 KHz, and the information is processed through a fast fourier transform spectrum analyzer for determining amplitude of acceleration ratio and phase difference between the two accelerometers from which Young's modulus and loss factor for that material are determined.

Method for measuring material characteristics

A method and apparatus for measuring the dynamic material constants of rur compounds. The rubber compound is tested in strip form by attaching one end of the strip to an electromechanical shaker while the opposite end of the strip is suspended under constant tension. The electromechanical shaker propagates an acoustic wave in the test strip and a piezoelectric transducer positioned at a first point on the test strip measures the mechanical response of the strip for phase and amplitude. The shaker is programmed to step piecewise over the frequency range from 100 Hz to 40 KHz by a frequency synthesizer. The distance between the shaker and the transducer is changed and data is obtained for a second point on the strip. The test values obtained are used to calculate Young's Modulus and the loss factor for the rubber compound.
