Product and process for neon lamp

A support plate and method of making a support plate for biological or chemical testing or cell culture. The plate has a high density network of microwells formed therein. The wells are formed by a contact pressing technique whereby a network of protuberances are pressed into the surface of a thermoformable material.

The panel has substrate (4) which has a network of barriers each incorporating electrode (6.sub.i) of a first network of electrodes for control of the panel, a periodic arrangement (R.sub.i, V.sub.i, B.sub.i) of areas of phosphorescent products being formed on substrate (4), transparent front plate (8), second network of electrodes (10.sub.j) perpendicular to electrodes (6.sub.i), an ionizable gas which is introduced between this substrate and this plate. In order to manufacture substrate (4), one forms a metallic plate which has joined preforms of electrodes (6.sub.i) of the first network, one covers the preforms with a layer of a dielectric material which is molded on it them and on the spaces separating them, and one removes the material from the metallic plate which joins the preforms of electrodes (6.sub.i), so as to electrically insulate these electrodes from one another.

Method of making a plasma display panel

A method and apparatus for pressing glass articles. A single mold may be utilized for each article being pressed. The plunger has a ring-like member movably attached thereto. After pressing, when the plunger is retracted from the plunger, the plunger retains the glass article thereon. The ring-like member is then lowered relative to the plunger, thereby removing the pressed article therefrom.

Method and apparatus for molding glass

A plate of a deformable optical material is pressed against a rigid surface furrowed with a congruent network of alveoli by subjecting the two faces of the plate to fluid pressures of different values, the pressure on the face opposite the alveolate surface being less than the pressure on the other face of that plate. The alveoli are deeper than the thickness of the convex part of the microlenses formed therein by permanent deformation of the plate under the applied pressure.

The invention relates to the moulding of glass articles. It concerns an automatic machine for moulding glass articles by means of pressing, comprising a single split mould (1), means for opening and closing the mould, means (9, 10) for introducing a metered batch of molten glass into the said mould, pressing means (12) in order to shape the batch of molten glass introduced into the said mould, and means for taking away the shaped glass article, characterized in that the mould has means (16) for periodically cooling using a pulse of cooling fluid, and in that it additionally comprises a plurality of mould bases (13) capable of being brought successively into a position in which they complete the said mould, the said mould bases additionally serving to take away the still malleable glass article having just been moulded.
