Motor vehicle actuating unit

An arrangement for mounting a brake power booster to a splash-board of a motor vehicle is proposed, which brake power booster is actuatable by means of an operating rod and is provided in a booster housing with at least a first evacuatable and a ventilatable second working chamber, the splash-board separating the motor vehicle's passenger compartment from a mounting compartment of the brake power booster, preferably the engine compartment. In order to eliminate the engine noises and the intake noises of the brake power booster, which have a disturbing effect, to a large extent by simultaneously sealing the passenger compartment, the present invention provides that the aeration of the second working chamber is effected via an aeration compartment communicating with the mounting compartment, said aeration compartment being confined by means of a protecting sleeve surrounding the booster housing and/or a control valve housing in part, said protecting sleeve being sealed both relative to the splash-board and relative to the operating rod.

Arrangement for mounting a brake power booster

An arrangement for mounting a brake power booster to the mud guard of an automotive vehicle. The booster is actuated by means of a push rod. An adapter which partly surrounds the booster housing is arranged between the brake power booster and the mud guard. To eliminate the engine and suction noises of the brake power booster which have a disturbing effect in the passenger compartment of the automotive vehicle and to simultaneously seal the passenger compartment, the adapter presents a ventilation port and a seal is provided between the adapter and the mud guard which is simultaneously brought in abutment against the push rod as a radial seal.

Arrangement for the fixation of a brake power booster

A vacuum operated brake power booster including a retaining member for securing the edge bead of a moveable wall diaphragm of the booster to the booster control valve is disclosed. The booster includes a casing subdivided into two chambers by a moveable wall having a diaphragm which has an internal edge bead disposed in an annular groove in the control valve housing of the booster. An annular retention ring surrounds the bead of the diaphragm to the outside of the bead and radially retains the edge bead within the control valve housing groove.

Vacuum-operated brake power booster having diaphragm edge bead retention

A vacuum-operated brake power booster is provided having a movable wall which is sealed off relative to the vacuum housing and a control valve body which is slidable jointly with the movable wall. A hollow cylinder-shaped expanded plastic ring is arranged in the annular clearance between the neck portion of the pedal side housing shell and the collar of the diaphragm, which collar sealingly surrounds the control valve body. The expanded plastic ring effects the air flow during brake operation such that the air flow, enters the annular clearance through the duct extending in a radial direction within the control valve body and is suitably deflected and cushioned so that no noises arise at this point. In the same manner and simultaneously, vibrations, especially those of the neck portion of the housing shell of the vacuum housing, are suppressed, since the expanded plastic ring adheres to the inside wall of the housing shell.

Vacuum-operated brake power booster

A valve device for a vacuum brake booster in which the poppet valve arranged in the bore of the control housing is held by means of a supporting ring provided with a radially inwardly extending flange. The flange holds a tubular part serving to hold and support of the valve spring which, on one end rests on the rear annular surface of the valve flange of the poppet valve and which, on the other side is supported on a collar of the piston rod. The valve spring has a cylindrical spring section and a conically shaped spring section, the length of the cylindrical section approximately corresponding to the length of the tubular part of the supporting ring.

Valve device for vacuum brake boosters

A low-pressure casing for a brake booster for automotive vehicles comprises two casing shells which are sealingly interconnected and include a reinforcement plate at the inner surface of the casing end wall of each casing shell. The reinforcement plate is fastened to the master brake cylinder or to the automotive vehicle by means of fastening bolts. The section of the casing end wall which lies radially outside the reinforcement plate is of truncated-cone-shaped construction and merges into a cylindrical section of the casing. Inserted in the inner of the casing at the transition from the truncated-cone-shaped section into the cylindrical section is a prop ring which is via webs formed integrally with the reinforcement plate.
