Computer-readable storage media, computing devices, and methods associated with an adaptive learning environment associated with an adaptive learning environment are disclosed. In embodiments, a computing device may include an instruction module and an adaptation module operatively coupled with the instruction module. The instruction module may selectively provide instructional content of one of a plurality of instructional content types to a user of the computing device via one or more output devices coupled with the computing device. The adaptation module may determine, in real-time, an engagement level associated with the user of the computing device and may cooperate with the instruction module to dynamically adapt the instructional content provided to the user based at least in part on the engagement level determined. A system for control of an automated device includes a control system configured to operate a device during an operating mode corresponding to a first state in which the control system automatically controls operation, the operating mode prescribing that a user monitor the device operation during automated control, and a scheduling module configured to, during the operating mode, receive a request for the user to temporarily stop monitoring in order to perform a task unrelated to the device operation, allocate a time period during which automated control is maintained and the user stops monitoring, the time period including a non-monitoring period having a duration based on a minimum amount of time for the task, and put the device into a temporary state at initiation of the allocated time period during which the user stops monitoring and automated control is maintained.

A method includes determining a situational awareness score indicating a level of vigilance required based on the real-time context, obtaining images of eyes of a driver to detect a gaze pattern of the driver, determining a relevant attention score indicating a level of engagement of the driver in the real-time context based on a match between the gaze pattern of the driver and the real-time context, and obtaining images of the driver to detect behavior of the driver. An augmented reality (AR) device includes a 3D video camera to capture video images and corresponding depth information, a display device to display the video data, and an AR module to add a virtual 3D model to the displayed video data. A depth mapping module generates a 3D map based on the depth information, a dynamic scene recognition and tracking module processes the video images and the 3D map to detect and track a target object within a field of view of the 3D video camera, and an augmented video rendering module renders an augmented video of the virtual 3D model dynamically interacting with the target object. The augmented video is displayed on the display device in real time. The AR device may further include a context module to select the virtual 3D model based on context data comprising a current location of the augmented reality device.

A mechanism is described for facilitating smart measurement of body dimensions despite loose clothing and/or other obscurities according to one embodiment. A method of embodiments, as described herein, includes capturing, by one or more capturing/sensing components of a computing device, a scan of a body of a user, and computing one or more primary measurements relating to one or more primary areas of the body, where the one or more primary measurements are computed based on depth data of the one or more primary areas of the body, where the depth data is obtained from the scan. The method may further include receiving at least one of secondary measurements and a three-dimensional (3D) avatar of the body based on the primary measurements, and preparing a report including body dimensions of the body based on at least one of the secondary measurements and the 3D avatar, and presenting the report at a display device.

A seat belt status determining system and method for a vehicle that evaluate a seat belt and determine if it is buckled and if it is properly routed on a passenger. In order to evaluate the seat belt status, the system and method use seat belt sensors and cameras inside the vehicle cabin to generate data that is then analyzed in conjunction with machine learning techniques (e.g., supervised machine learning techniques implemented through the use of neural networks) to classify the seat belt status into one or more categories, such as: passenger not present, passenger present/seat belt not being worn, passenger present/seat belt being worn improperly, passenger present/seat belt being worn properly, and blocked view.

An interactive driving system and method that improves a driving experience by allowing a passenger to interactively monitor and evaluate certain driving maneuvers in real-time with an augmented reality interface. The input provided by the passenger via the augmented reality interface is recorded for later processing and analysis. For instance, the passenger input may be used to generate driving reports for later review by the driver and passenger (e.g., when the passenger is teaching a new driver how to drive) or for the manufacturer of autonomous or semi-autonomous vehicles (e.g., when the manufacturer is seeking actionable feedback for improving various self-driving algorithms).
