Apparatus and method for measuring concentration of a component of target material including a pumping light source for emitting light; a first wavelength conversion unit for converting and outputting the light; a first beam splitting unit for splitting the converted light and directing a first light beam at the target material; a reference light generator for converting a second light beam to be parallel, dividing the parallel light beam by wavelengths, and outputting the result as reference light; a first collimating unit for converting light transmitted through the target material to be parallel and outputting the parallel light; a light intensity measuring unit for measuring the intensity of light from the first collimating unit and the reference light, by wavelengths, using the reference light; and a concentration measuring unit for measuring the concentration of the component based on the intensities measured by the light intensity measuring unit by wavelengths.

Apparatus and method for measuring a concentration of a component of a target material

A laser handpiece using an optical system such as a prism. The laser handpiece includes a laser fiber for irradiating laser beam output from a laser generating device, a first beam path changing portion for changing a traveling path of the laser beam output from the laser fiber, a second beam path changing portion for changing finally the traveling path of the laser beam output from the first beam path changing portion, a focus lens for focusing the laser beam output from the second beam path changing portion onto a point, and a main body for containing the laser fiber, the first beam path changing portion, the second beam path changing portion and the focus lens. Thus, an optical axis can be easily aligned and the traveling path of the laser beam can be easily changed within a small space, so the laser handpiece can be manufactured in a convenient shape for use.

The optimal diagnosis point detector for noninvasive diagnosis of blood constituents includes detecting means for detecting a predetermined signal concerning bloodstream quantity from a portion of a subject to be diagnosed, driving means for driving the detecting means, amplifying means for amplifying the output signal of the detecting means, analog-to-digital (A/D) converting means for receiving the signal output from the amplifying means and converting the same into digital data, storage means for storing a predetermined optimal diagnosis point detecting method, means through which a user's command is input, central processing means, connected to the driving means, the A/D converting means, the command inputting means, and the storage means, for performing the predetermined optimal diagnosis point detecting method stored in the storage means according to the user's input command, and display means connected to the central processing means for displaying a detected value and displaying an indication that the detected value is the maximum value when a maximum detection signal is detected from the detecting means. Therefore, the concentration of blood constituents of a subject to be diagnosed can be calculated accurately. Also, the constituents that are very lightly concentrated in the blood can be accurately measured.

Optical diagnosis point detector for noninvasive diagnosis of blood

A method and device for noninvasive measurement of blood component concentrations utilizes pulsed polychromatic light source emitting, light in the near infrared range 800-1850 nm. The light is back scattered from or transmitted through a part of a patient's body. Back scattered light from blood-containing tissues and blood vessels has information on blood component concentrations. That light is collected to avoid the surface reflection from the skin surface and to minimize the effects of changes in the scattering background. The concentrations of blood components are calculated from the spectral analysis based on selected wavelengths by a defined algorithm. A microprocessor calculates and determines the blood component concentrations by comparing a ratio with a calibration curve stored in a memory of the microprocessor. The calculated concentration values are displayed on a display.
