A synchronous reluctance motor comprises a stator and a rotor, the rotor comprising: a rotation shaft; a first core having a shaft hole for inserting the rotation shaft at a center thereof, and having a plurality of first flux barrier groups arranged along a circumferential direction of the shaft hole and spacing from each other; and a second core having a receiving hole larger than the shaft hole at a center thereof, and stacked at one side of the first core in an axial line direction. A length of the rotor protruding from a supporting portion can be decreased without reducing a stacked thickness thereof, and a vibration occurrence in a horizontal direction with respect to the rotation shaft can be reduced, thereby enhancing a reliability of the synchronous reluctance motor.

An apparatus and method for controlling high speed operation of a motor for controlling high speed operation of a motor by estimating the position and the speed of the rotor of a synchronous motor without a PI regulator to eliminate the users' inconvenience and to secure the reliability of the control of a rotor's position and speed of a synchronous motor, which includes: a reference frame transformer that receives triangular coordinate voltages and currents and converts them to static coordinate voltages and currents, a flux observer that receives the converted static coordinate voltages and currents and observes and outputs the flux of the stator, a position estimator that receives the converted static coordinate currents and the observed flux of the stator and estimates and outputs the position of the rotor, and a speed estimator that receives the estimated position of the rotor and estimates and outputs the speed of the rotor.

Apparatus for controlling high speed operation of motor and method thereof

Disclosed is a method and device for controlling the startup of a synchronous reluctance motor. The device includes: a voltage injector which generates injection voltages to estimate an initial position of the rotor; a motor drive voltage generator which converts stationary-coordinate-system voltages including the injection voltages to three-phase motor drive voltages and applies the three-phase motor drive voltages to the motor; a current extractor which extracts response current components i, iin respect to the injection voltages from two-phase stationary-coordinate-system currents converted from three-phase currents detected upon rotation of the motor; and a position/speed estimator which extracts response current components related to a rotor position from the response current components i, iin respect to the injection voltages to calculate a rotor position error (e), and estimates the speed and position {tilde over (&#x3c9;)},{tilde over (&#x3b8;)} of the rotor from the calculated rotor position error (e).
